Western media: Ukrainian front-line soldiers fall into the "doping cloud"

2023-02-07

On February 4, the website of the Spanish "Secret News" reported that the use of psychotropic drugs in the army was encouraged in order to create a low-dose version of the super soldier without fear and fatigue, which is almost as old as the war itself. Since the beginning of the war, Moscow has repeatedly accused Zelensky's troops of using different drugs as stimulants. According to the report, one of the most notorious events in the war of mutual accusations occurred on August 4 last year. On the same day, Russian Tass reported that Putin's army found psychotropic substances in the positions abandoned by Ukrainian military personnel. According to Lieutenant General Igor Kirilov, commander of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force of the Russian Army, traces of opiates and amphetamines were also found in the body of Ukrainian prisoners of war under examination. Kirilov said: "These drugs can become addictive and have side effects such as excessive aggression." In order to prove that the Ukrainian army has provided psychotropic drugs to soldiers, the Russian side produced a report purportedly written to the commander of the 72nd Independent Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian army, Colonel Vladichenko. According to Moscow, the report recorded the delivery of drugs. A Ukrainian fact verification organization funded by the United States and the United Kingdom quickly objected that "the report is likely to be false". Recently, the first-hand testimonies of Ukrainian soldiers allegedly appeared on the Internet. These testimonies tried to prove that some troops in Kiev provided different types of stimulants called ephedrine to soldiers before the war to keep them awake at night. This is not a matter that can be determined from the beginning. According to the report, it is not just the Ukrainian war, but the emergence of drugs on the front line is nothing new, as explained by Ahs Atiyaga, a Spaniard who participated in the recent conflict in the Middle East. He had fought with the Islamic State in the ranks of the Syrian Democratic Army. "One of our comrades-in-arms was addicted, which made our life very bad," Atiyaga recalled. (Outlook New Era)
