According to the US Defense News Weekly website on the 30th, the US Air Force has signed a US $2.3 billion contract with Boeing to purchase another 15 KC-46 "Pegasus" tankers. The Pentagon said in a contract announcement released a few days ago that the latest batch of KC-46 will become the ninth production batch of the tanker, and is expected to be completed by the end of August 2026. According to the report, Boeing said on the 30th that this made the number of KC-46 tankers ordered by the US Air Force from the company reach 128, of which 68 have been delivered and put into use. Boeing also signed a contract to produce another 10 KC-46 aircraft for partner countries, of which 6 were exported to Japan and 4 were exported to Israel. Japan has received the first two KC-46 aircraft. It is reported that in recent years, KC-46 has continuously enhanced its ability to refuel military aircraft. The US Air Force said in September last year that the KC-46 has been approved to carry out all air refueling missions worldwide on all military aircraft except the A-10 attack aircraft.
