At the award ceremony and opening ceremony of the first "Impress China - Iran Youth Painting Competition" held in Tehran on the 4th, 13 year old Mahshid Kasimi introduced his paintings. This "Impress China - Iran Youth Painting Competition" is divided into two age groups, namely, 7 to 11 years old and 12 to 16 years old. 427 entries were collected from Iranian youth. After selection, each group will be awarded one first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes. 70 paintings, including the award-winning works, will participate in the one month excellent works exhibition held from the 4th. The reporter saw at the exhibition site that most of the award-winning works have integrated such iconic Chinese cultural elements as red lanterns, the Great Wall and dragons, and are full of Iranian teenagers' imagination and thinking about China. Kasimi from Isfahan Province won the first prize in the age group of 12 to 16. She said that when depicting traditional China, she used images of dragons, fans, ancient buildings, etc., with the main color of red, including scenes of Chinese celebrating the Lunar New Year; In the part of modern China, she focused on describing China's high-rise buildings and urban development, as well as celebrating farmers, demonstrating China's achievements in poverty alleviation. "I am very interested in China. I usually learn about China through films, documentaries and other means, which gives me the image in the painting," Kasimi said. The theme of the painting by Mehernaz Tolue, the first prize winner of the age group from 7 to 11, is "the Silk Road", which depicts the trade between ancient Persians and Chinese. This idea was inspired by his father Mahmoud. "The ancient Silk Road connected China and Iran. It is hoped that this competition can be used as a starting point to further sow the seeds of friendship between the youth of the two countries, so that the friendship between China and Iran can be passed on from generation to generation, and inject new momentum, new vitality and new connotation into China Iran comprehensive strategic partnership. Hamid Alamati, director of Iran's National Youth Intellectual Education Center, said that China is a country of culture, civilization and art. Iran's literary and artistic works contain a lot of Chinese stories and Chinese elements. As the youth education management institution under the Ministry of Education of Iran, the Intellectual Education Center is willing to work with the Chinese Embassy in Iran to further promote the deepening of exchanges between the youth of the two countries with painting, the common artistic language of mankind, to constantly enhance mutual understanding between the youth of the two countries, and to cultivate a number of envoys of friendship, adding new strength to the long-standing friendly exchanges between the two countries. Iranian officials, winners of the competition and their families, and about 180 teachers and students from Tehran University, Shahid Bekhshti University and other universities attended the event. Mani Zare, a freshman majoring in Chinese at Shaheed Bekhshti University who visited the site, said that after watching the exhibition, he was "very encouraged"
