2022-12-21

According to the website of the Russian News, Anton Glashchenko, adviser to Ukraine's interior minister, announced on the 19th that the Ukrainian army had test fired the "Eureyan" missile based on the "Xingguang" portable air defense missile system. Glashchenko wrote on the social platform: "The 'European Swallow' has been listed. Except for Ukraine, it only serves in the armies of two countries around the world - the United Kingdom and Indonesia. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine demonstrated our military's testing work on the 'European Swallow' multi-purpose guided missile based on the 'Starlight' portable air defense missile system." The video released by Glashchenko shows that the "European Swallow" enables the Ukrainian army to establish "multi echelon sky defense", including short-range systems such as the "beech" - M1-2 air defense missile system and the S-300 long-range system. It is reported that the UK earlier provided a new batch of "Sulphur - 2" missiles to Kiev. According to the report, London has provided a new round of military assistance worth 50 million pounds to Kiev, including 125 anti-aircraft weapons, radars and UAV countermeasures. In 2022, the UK will allocate a total of 2.3 billion pounds to aid Ukraine, and the same amount will be allocated next year. On December 9, British Prime Minister Richie Sunak promised to provide Ukraine with anti-aircraft weapons in recent weeks. (Outlook New Times)
