On the 10th, the World Conservation Union announced in Montreal, Canada, that 11 Chinese nature reserves, including Huangguoshu Scenic Area and Shennongjia National Park, had been included in the green list of the World Conservation Union. The list announced during the second phase of the fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) included 18 natural reserves, including 11 in China, 3 in Mexico, 2 in Peru, and 1 in France and Zambia. So far, there are 77 nature reserves on the Green List of the World Conservation Union. The selected Chinese nature reserves are Guangzhou Haizhu National Wetland Park, Hunan Huping Mountain National Nature Reserve, Huangguoshu Scenic Spot, Jilin Changbai Mountain National Nature Reserve, Shaanxi Changqing National Nature Reserve, Qianjiangyuan National Park, Longwanqun National Forest Park, Hubei Seven Sisters Mountain National Nature Reserve, Shennongjia National Park Hunan Badagongshan National Nature Reserve and Inner Mongolia Daxing'anling Hanma National Nature Reserve. Among them, Shaanxi Changqing National Nature Reserve and Longwanqun National Forest Park, which had previously been included in the green list, were renewed this time. James Hardcastle, a senior official of the World Conservation Union, said in an interview with reporters the same day that China has invested in the construction of thousands of nature reserves and has extremely rich experience. The international community can learn, share and exchange these experiences for common benefits. The IUCN Green List is a global movement aimed at successfully protecting nature. It will certify natural reserves that are "effectively managed, fairly governed, and have a long-term positive impact on human beings and nature" according to strict standards applicable globally.
