How Education Stimulates the "First Power" of Innovation through System Integration and Collaborative Innovation

Education is of great significance to innovation. As pointed out in the important report of UNESCO, Learning to Live, education has the dual power to cultivate and suppress the creative spirit. Good education can fully exert the power to cultivate innovation. Innovation is based on education. 1. System integration stimulates institutional innovation. In general, innovation is defined as "the implementation of new or significantly improved products (goods or services) or processes, new marketing methods or new organizational methods in business practices, workplace organizations or external relations". System integration refers to the integration of all functional parts into a unified system. Modern products and services are characterized by system and comprehensive integration. Although every part of the system already exists, the idea of integration is novel and unprecedented, and its innovation lies in the way of integration. Therefore, from the perspective of system science and system engineering, system integration is an important form of innovation. As a subsystem of the social system, education is not only restricted by its own development laws, but also affected by the whole social system and its economic, political, scientific, technological and cultural subsystems. The integration of internal and external functions of the education system is mainly reflected in the following three aspects. First, the integration of regions and universities. In the era of knowledge economy, colleges and universities are the main force of scientific and technological innovation, and scientific and technological innovation, especially subversive technology, is an interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary integrated innovation, which must rely on the cluster development of higher education. Taking the construction of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area as an example, the positioning of its innovation bay area and science and technology bay area has put forward significant demands for the development of higher education clusters and even the construction of international education demonstration areas. Whether it is "building an innovation development zone with international competitiveness" or "forming an international science and technology innovation center", it is necessary to gather international innovation resources to promote and deepen the development of high-quality higher education clusters in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
