The accumulated amount of digital RMB transactions exceeds 100 billion yuan

As of the end of August this year, the number of transactions in digital RMB pilot areas had totaled 360 million, with an amount of 100.4 billion yuan, and the number of merchant stores supporting digital RMB exceeded 5.6 million. Digital RMB has formed a large number of online and offline, replicable and promotable application models in wholesale and retail, catering, culture and tourism, education and medical care, public services and other fields. In recent years, the People's Bank of China has solidly carried out various work of digital RMB R&D pilot projects. It has successively selected some regions in 15 provinces to carry out digital RMB pilot projects, and has comprehensively evaluated and determined 10 designated operating institutions. Since this year, nearly 30 digital RMB consumption red envelope activities have been carried out in pilot areas, and commercial institutions have also carried out many market-oriented promotion activities to effectively promote social consumption replenishment and release potential. Multi local e-government service platforms have opened digital RMB payment services, supported online and offline channels to handle payment of various public utilities, and used digital RMB to distribute tax refund funds, special funds for monthly medical insurance settlement, funds for helping people in need, and funds for supporting enterprises with "expertise, specialty, and novelty". In addition, digital RMB services have sunk into county rural areas, expanding the coverage of rural financial services based on characteristic scenarios such as agricultural product sales and preferential agricultural subsidies, and helping rural revitalization and digital rural construction. The People's Bank of China said that it will continue to promote the sustainable and healthy development of digital RMB business, support the use of digital RMB in public sectors such as finance, taxation and government affairs, provide advanced payment services for the government's digital and intelligent governance, realize the interconnection between the digital RMB system and traditional electronic payment tools, and enable consumers to "scan through one code", Merchants also try not to increase costs to support various payment tools, and continue to promote digital RMB accessibility and aging capacity building.
