The sports service special exhibition area of the China International Trade in Services Fair in 2022 has set a set of gratifying figures: more than 20000 square meters of exhibition area, 353 enterprises and institutions participated online and offline, and the total amount of contract signing during the exhibition reached a record high of 12.717 billion yuan. Fitness consumption has increased significantly, local brands have risen rapidly, and the sports industry has achieved considerable development in recent years. In 2018, China's sports industry achieved two key breakthroughs, namely, the added value of the industry exceeded trillion yuan and its proportion in GDP exceeded 1%. During the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" period, China's sports industry entered a critical stage of development. Next, the sports industry will seize the opportunity to further integrate into the new development pattern and achieve high-quality development. Encouraging public participation and stimulating consumption vitality In 2014, the State Council issued Several Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Sports Industry and Promoting Sports Consumption, which elevated fitness for all as a national strategy and injected new momentum into the development of the sports industry. In the past 10 years, related domestic events, represented by marathon, have developed rapidly. According to the statistics of China Track and Field Association, marathon related events grew rapidly during the "13th Five Year Plan" period, with the number of events reaching 1828 in 2019, an increase of about 46 times compared with 2013. Not only marathons, but also a number of popular sports industry plans have been issued, encouraging social forces to run competitions and public participation to complement each other, and promoting the in-depth development of the fitness and leisure industry. As the concept of fitness for all has become increasingly popular, buying sports equipment, participating in sports training, experiencing fashionable sports, watching sports competitions, renting sports venues, etc. has become a new hot spot for people's sports consumption. According to the data released by the Sports Economy Department of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China, from 2015 to 2019, the total scale of sports fitness and leisure activities in China increased from 27.69 billion yuan to 179.66 billion yuan, an increase of 548.83%. The preparation and holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics has driven the hot development of the ice and snow economy. According to Peng Weiyong, deputy director of the Sports Economy Department of the General Administration of Sport of the People's Republic of China, 312 million domestic ice and snow tourists participated in the 2021-2022 snow season, and the tourism revenue reached 390 billion yuan, an increase of 44.4% over the 2016-2017 snow season. The development of ice and snow industry has also become an important support for the promotion and popularization of ice and snow sports. The building of local brands and the expansion of market players benefit from the heating up of national fitness and the promotion of relevant industrial policies. China's local sports brands have made concerted efforts in product technology innovation, sales channel reform, and expanding the brand's international influence. During the "13th Five Year Plan" period, the market players of China's sports industry continued to grow.
