The Supreme People's Procuratorate today released data on major cases handled by procuratorial organs nationwide in the first three quarters of this year. In the criminal prosecution line, the quality of criminal prosecution cases continues to improve. Data show that procuratorial organs nationwide approved and decided to arrest 403000 suspect, a year-on-year decrease of 41%; 281000 people were not arrested, up 0.1% year on year, and the rate was 41.8%, up 12.2 percentage points year on year. A total of 1.025 million people decided to sue, down 19.6% year on year; 345000 people decided not to sue, up 49.8% year on year, and the non prosecution rate was 25.2%, up 9.9 percentage points year on year. In the civil procuratorial line, the quality and efficiency of civil procuratorial work have been constantly improved. The procuratorial organs nationwide have handled 56000 cases of effective civil judgment supervision, and put forward 11000 supervision opinions, including 3288 protests and 7162 retrial suggestions. The change rate of protests is 90.3%, and the adoption rate of retrial suggestions is 72.7%; 41000 pieces of procuratorial suggestions on illegal acts in civil trial activities; 50000 procuratorial suggestions were put forward for illegal acts in civil enforcement activities. In the administrative procuratorial line, data show that the quality, efficiency and effect of administrative procuratorial work have been further improved.
