Wang Hongbo, Minister of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, said on the 14th that South South cooperation is an important way for developing countries to give play to their comparative advantages and achieve common development. China firmly supports South South cooperation and calls on the international community to unite closely and deepen cooperation. Wang Hongbo said in his speech under Topic 21 "New City Agenda" and Topic 23 "Business Activities for Development" of the Second Committee of the 77th United Nations General Assembly that while realizing its own development, China will do its best to help other developing countries achieve common development. China looks forward to working with all parties to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and achieve more robust, green and healthy development. Wang Hongbo said that the United Nations development system should respect the ownership and leadership of developing countries, provide support for the most urgent development needs and priorities of developing countries, especially focus on helping developing countries eliminate poverty, access food and energy, strengthen capacity-building, and improve digital connectivity. On the same day, Wang Hongbo said in his speech under Topic 21 "Countries in Special Situations" of the Second Committee of the 77th United Nations General Assembly that developed countries should earnestly fulfill their official development assistance commitments, provide stable and predictable financial support to countries in special situations, focus on the most urgent needs and priorities of the least developed countries and landlocked developing countries, and take targeted measures to help them achieve economic recovery. Wang Hongbo said that China has always been a firm supporter and active promoter of the least developed countries and landlocked developing countries to achieve revitalization and development, and has always firmly supported their development efforts under multilateral, regional and bilateral frameworks.
