Recently, the commencement of the section from Foshan West Railway Station to Guangzhou North Railway Station (hereinafter referred to as Guangfo West Ring) of the Pearl River Delta Intercity Rail Transit Guangzhou Foshan Ring Road was held in Nanhai District, Foshan City, marking the official commencement of the construction of the "last piece of puzzle" of the Guangzhou Foshan Ring Road Intercity Rail Transit. Located in the northwest of Guangzhou City and the northeast of Foshan City, Guangfo West Ring is an important part of the inter city rail transit network of Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Dawan District, as well as an express line connecting the central urban area of Guangfo, Shishan sub center of Foshan, Huadu urban area and other regions of the metropolitan area. It has the function of "linking clusters and ranking northwest" in the road network. The line starts from Foshan West Station, passes through Shishan Town, Lishui Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Tanbu Town, Xiuquan Street, Huadu District, Guangzhou City, and Jianggao Town, Baiyun District, and ends at Guangzhou North Station. The line is about 47 kilometers long, including 16.5 kilometers in Guangzhou and 30.5 kilometers in Foshan, with a design speed of 200 kilometers per hour. There are 9 stations in the whole line. In addition to the existing Guangzhou North Station and Foshan West Station, seven new stations will be built, including Shishan, Dalan, Guanyao South, Hegui, Tanbu, Huadu Port and Shenshan. The total construction period of the project is 5 years, with a total investment of 22.6 billion yuan. After the completion of the Guangfo West Ring Road, it will be connected to form the Guangfo Intercity Rail Transit Great Ring Road, realizing the fast access to Baiyun Airport, Guangzhou South Railway Station, Foshan West Railway Station, Guangzhou North Railway Station and other major transport hubs, which is conducive to further optimizing and improving the layout of the inter city network in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and provides important support for promoting the construction of the integration of Guangfo and the whole city, promoting the coordinated development of the Guangzhou Metropolitan Circle, and accelerating the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
