Remembering the heroic march ■ Yang Shaotong Yang Congrong On September 17, the ninth group of martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Korea was buried at the Shenyang Martyrs Cemetery, where 88 martyrs rested in peace on the motherland. So far, 913 martyrs and heroes of the Chinese People's Volunteers in South Korea have returned to the motherland and the people. Seventy two years ago, the Chinese People's Volunteers crossed the Yalu River and, together with the Korean people and army, won a great victory in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea after two years and nine months of arduous and bloody battles. More than 197000 heroic sons and daughters gave their precious lives for the motherland, the people and peace. The martyrs' achievements will shine through the ages, and their fame will last forever! Moving back to the Korean volunteer martyrs' remains and holding a grand reception and burial ceremony is to vigorously praise the volunteer martyrs and express our deepest remembrance and highest respect. Today, when we hear the song "A big river is wide, and the wind blows on both sides of the river", we will still be filled with emotion. When we see the film in which the volunteer soldiers shout to the microphone, "Shoot me for victory", we will still be filled with tears... How can we forget the battles and sacrifices of the volunteer soldiers at the Changjin Lake, the north of the Qingchuan River, and the Gaima Plateau, How can we forget the figure of "a handful of fried noodles and a handful of snow" still charging and wading across the glacier "like logs moving"? How can we forget the faith and persistence of those "most lovely people". The Chinese nation is a nation where heroes come forth in large numbers. It is the nature of Chinese people to advocate and admire heroes. Behind every hero who died for his country, there is a story worth remembering. The sacrifice and dedication of heroic martyrs should not be forgotten, and the spirit of heroic martyrs should be inherited from generation to generation. At present, the world is experiencing great changes that have not occurred in a century, and China is in a critical period of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. We should inherit the martyrs' will, inherit the heroic spirit, and strive to achieve national rejuvenation, national prosperity, and people's happiness, and take the long march of the new era; We should advocate heroes, learn from them, strive to be heroes, cultivate patriotism, forge our ambition to become a strong country, and practice our service to the country. We should work hard and forge ahead bravely on the great journey of realizing the Chinese Dream and the dream of building a strong military. (Outlook New Times)
