The National Health Commission recently released the "14th five year plan" for food safety standards, monitoring and evaluation. It is planned to make systematic design and specific deployment for China's food safety standards, monitoring and evaluation, national nutrition work development objectives and safeguard measures during the "14th five year plan" period. It is proposed in the plan that during the "14th five year plan" period, the basic role of food safety standards and risk monitoring and assessment in the food safety governance system of "prevention first, risk management, whole process control and social co governance" should be given full play, with the focus on improving the grass-roots food safety risk prevention ability of the health system. The plan also specifies 15 key tasks of food safety standards and monitoring in China during the "14th five year plan". In order to further improve China's food safety standard system, according to the plan, the National Health Commission will formulate and revise some national food safety standards, including revising the general standards such as the limit of pollutants in food, the limit of pathogenic bacteria and food related products; Formulate and revise hygienic standards for irradiated food processing.
