A base of the Naval Medical University organized an actual combat rescue drill

2022-08-24

A few days ago, a training base of the Naval Military Medical University organized a practical maritime rescue drill. Unlike the previous evacuation of the "wounded" to the Shore Hospital for treatment, the drill was conducted in the manner of "receiving medical treatment at sea and operating on board". After the officers and men received many "wounded", the military doctors quickly checked the vital signs of the "wounded", judged the injury, and then transferred them to the ship's medical room for treatment. In recent years, the base has closely adhered to the needs of future battlefields, actively built two training fields on land and at sea, explored a new mode of joint exercise and joint training that combines dynamic and static forces and integrates the coast and sea, and focused on improving the health service support capability under actual combat conditions. In this exercise, the medical team of the base, relying on training ships for the first time, explored and improved the actual combat rescue capability under the complex marine battlefield environment, focusing on such topics as rescue of drowned personnel, rescue and evacuation of batch wounded, and operation at sea. During the exercise, they adopted various maritime medical rescue modes according to different battlefield situations and various injuries, and carried out specialized training one by one according to the wounded rescue process and post capacity list. The officers and men participating in the exercise also used high simulation equipment to simulate the "wounded" and carried out high-intensity targeted training from general clinical treatment subjects to special naval warfare subjects. The author saw at the drill site that after a "seriously injured" was sent to the operating room, the medical staff of the operating group quickly formulated a treatment plan according to his injury and carried out the operation in an orderly manner. Yang Dejun, the leader of the medical team of the base, said: "it is difficult and demanding to carry out operations on a moving warship. This exercise has effectively tested and improved the professional ability and psychological quality of medical personnel, and also accumulated experience for us to explore and improve the wartime medical support capability."
