Since 2021, the Beijing Municipal Bureau of cultural relics has organized 102 archaeological excavation projects in seven districts along the Beijing section of the Grand Canal, with an excavation area of about 100000 square meters. "The archaeological work at and around the old city site of Luxian County in the Han Dynasty has clarified the shape and preservation of the South Gate of the old city of Luxian County; the archaeological staff have cleared up a certain number of wooden and bamboo slips from the Eastern Han Dynasty, which is the first discovery in the archaeology of Han Dynasty sites in Beijing." Chen Mingjie said. Chen Mingjie said that in the past year, 126 cultural relics protection projects have been implemented in seven districts along the Beijing section of the Grand Canal. The newly discovered architectural remains of Wanshou Temple East Road were protected and the environment was renovated. The Grand Canal source site park has carried out systematic environmental renovation, repair and protection, resource digitization and file management on the basis of the early-stage cultural relics and village relocation. It will be officially opened around October this year. Chen Mingjie said that the Beijing Municipal Bureau of cultural relics has also organized the Beijing Institute of archaeology to carry out disease investigation and monitoring data collection of the Tonghui section of the Grand Canal. 89 monitoring points have been set up in the heritage section of the Grand Canal, and 3D laser scanning and panoramic VR cameras have been used to carry out data collection and patrol inspection. We carried out the investigation and file compilation of Beijing ancient bridges, comprehensively found out 88 ancient bridges with traffic functions, and clarified the spatial distribution law and preservation status. "A number of museums light up the Grand Canal cultural belt. By the end of July 2022, there were 165 registered museums in the seven districts along the Grand Canal, and 10 new registered museums have been added since 2021. Beijing Grand Canal Museum (East Museum of Capital Museum) Officially named, the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2022 and open to the public by the end of 2023. The first phase construction of the archaeological site park in the ancient city of Luxian county was successfully completed, and the second phase greening project is being carried out; The main structure of the Lu county old city protection and exhibition project is under construction.
