With more than 5000 titles and about 800000 books, Malta's "bookworm" ushered in a good time immersed in the ocean of knowledge as the "Wangdao" book exhibition ship docked at Valletta port, Malta on the 12th. A few days ago, when visiting the book exhibition ship, the reporter saw an endless stream of customers coming to read and buy books. Books cover a wide range of fields, including science, sports, cooking, art and so on. There are also many university textbooks, such as language, mathematics, geography and history. Christina eluer is a complete fan and won't miss any book exhibitions. She told reporters that she had been there twice since the "Wangdao" docked. The first time is to go by yourself, enjoy reading quietly and buy favorite books. The second time is to take the children. "I read at least one book a week, and my children also like reading." In her opinion, the floating book fair on the sea is a wonderful idea and desirable. "The children enjoyed their time on the ship, chatting with the crew and playing games with them. We took three bags full of books when we got off the ship." She said excitedly. "Wangdao" was officially put into use in the form of a floating book exhibition in February 2009. Sebastian Moncayo, who is in charge of public relations on board, told reporters that people aged 13 to 64 can read books with rich content only by buying tickets of 1 euro, and people of other ages can read them for free, and people can also buy favorite books at a very low price. Books are mainly donated. On the "Wangdao" ship, the captain, the chef and the staff responsible for managing books are all volunteers from about 60 countries and regions. Moncayo from Ecuador has been a member of the ship since 2019. Except for a short return to visit relatives, he basically lives and works on the ship. He told reporters that he liked life on board, that he could meet people from different countries and appreciate different cultures. "It is the love of books and the enthusiasm to deal with people from different countries and cultural backgrounds that bring us together. Our mission is to spread knowledge and hope." Moncayo said. He said that although the "Wangdao" was registered in Valletta, it spent little time in Valletta and was always busy going to different ports. The crew shared knowledge with the public during the trip and cooperated with local non-governmental organizations to help the local community. "One belief we want to spread to you is that people in different communities can get along well." The "Wangdao" will dock in Valletta harbor until the end of July, and then continue its journey around the world to share the happiness of reading and acquiring knowledge with people all over the world.
