New life in Miaozhai

2022-07-22

In July, Huawu village, Xinren Township, Qianxi City, Guizhou Province, has beautiful lakes and mountains, magnificent fjords and valleys, and the "hundred mile Gallery of Wujiang source" attracted an endless stream of tourists. In the relocation and resettlement site for poverty alleviation in Huawu village, which is close to the mountain and faces the water, dozens of folk houses with characteristics in Northwest Guizhou are scattered, hidden in the mist. Zhao Yuxue, a villager who opened a farmhouse, talked with reporters while doing things. The barren land, leaking houses, lack of water and electricity, and inconvenient reading for children are the portraits of Zhao Yuxue's life in his hometown mawozhai in the past. In 2017, benefiting from the relocation policy for poverty alleviation, Zhao Yuxue and his family, together with 33 other villagers, bid farewell to the "isolated" mawozhai and moved into a new home located on the Bank of Yachi River - the relocation site for poverty alleviation in Huawu village. According to the standard of 25 square meters per person, the five members of Zhao Yuxue's family are divided into a two-story building with 125 square meters. The new bathroom, kitchen, water and electricity are complete, and the whole family moves in with bags. One step across the millennium, life is like honey. "In order to enable the villagers to move, have employment and gradually become rich, the village should take practical measures to help the relocated people get employed and start businesses and ensure the source of income." Xu Lei, Secretary of the Party branch of Huawu village, said that in order to solve the problem of people's income after relocation, Huawu village led the cooperative to develop breeding, flower planting and other industries, absorbed the people in the resettlement sites for employment nearby, and encouraged the relocated villagers to increase their income by starting businesses and going out to work. With the help of the village, the villagers found their own way out. Zhao Yuxue and his wife Yang pengying chose to go out to work; Wang Guangyuan tried to breed black bone chicken at home and started a farmhouse; Yang Wenli, the embroiderer, regained the traditional skills of the Miao family and cooperated with the village cooperative to set up a Miao embroidery workshop to help the embroiderer at home weave a better life with her needle and thread... With a stable income, the villagers' lives after relocation have improved, and the development of Huawu village has made great strides forward. The arrival of the general secretary has made this Miao village on the source of the Wujiang River famous, with a large influx of tourists, promoting the blowout development of local tourism. "The general secretary learned about our family's life in detail, wrapped yellow cake with us, and wished our days would be sweeter and sweeter." After the Spring Festival, Zhao Yuxue chose to stay in his hometown to start a business. He registered the trademark "Zhao Yuxue huangba", changed his house into farmhouse, and opened a shop as the boss. "Every weekend or holiday, my yellow cake can sell sixorseven hundred yuan a day, and the income of farmhouse entertainment is about more than tenthousand yuan a month." Zhao Yuxue said. Zhao Yuxue (right) and his family make yellow rice cakes. "Miao embroidery is both traditional and fashionable. How wonderful it is when you embroider it stitch by stitch!" The encouragement of the general secretary made Yang Wenli, the embroiderer, more confident in developing the Miao embroidery industry. She set up a professional design team, combined traditional Miao embroidery with modern fashion, and designed special Miao embroidery products, which are exported to all parts of the country and are deeply loved by tourists. She sold embroidery batik products for 1.6 million yuan a year, helping more than 60 local embroiderers to find employment. "This year, with the help of the government, we built a new processing workshop and turned the workshop in the resettlement site of the chemical house into a product exhibition room for tourists to watch and buy Miao embroidery products." Yang Wenli said that she would increase innovation, design more fashionable Miao embroidery products, drive the income of embroiderers in the workshop, and create a better new life with everyone. Xu Lei said that in 2021, Huawu village received more than 650000 tourists, with a comprehensive tourism income of more than 300 million yuan, and the per capita net income of villagers reached 19304 yuan. Relying on the vigorous development of rural tourism, the Party branch of Huawu village has taken an active part in leading cadres and the masses to make a big fuss around rural tourism, characteristic B & B, planting and breeding, embroidery and batik, promoting the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism in Huawu village, helping the masses to increase their income, and helping the revitalization of the countryside. Now, more relocated people who go out to work have returned to the village to set up agritainment, develop in groups with cooperatives, and increase their income at the door of their homes. The days are getting better and better. (outlook new era)
