Wangshufen, a researcher at the Vegetable Research Institute of the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, introduced the application of innovative technology in vegetable breeding and planting to the general secretary. Compared with soil culture, hydroponic vegetables are cleaner and safer, and the production cycle is shorter. It can also save fertilizer costs and achieve water-saving cycle. A few more crops can increase farmers' income. People can also grow a "small vegetable garden" on their balcony. Shandong is a major agricultural province, and facility vegetables are one of the "agricultural products" with Shandong characteristics. In recent years, our team has made new achievements in technical research fields such as breeding of new vegetable varieties, intensive seedling raising of major vegetables, and green pest control. Six new technologies have become the main agricultural technologies in Shandong Province. Some high-end vegetable seeds in the domestic market were once more dependent on imports. By constantly innovating excellent germplasm and breeding technology, and accelerating the breeding of new stress resistant and high-quality vegetable varieties, we continue to promote the localization of imported vegetable seeds and the internationalization of domestic famous and high-quality varieties. Cabbage and radish originally originated in China, but high-end spring and summer varieties were once monopolized by imported seeds. In order to solve this situation, our team formed several research teams and made breakthroughs a little bit. In winter, sow and raise seedlings in warm winter sheds; Seed collection and test in summer. After years of groping and applying the research results, a new variety of cabbage and radish that can effectively replace imports was finally developed. Today, the market share of domestic vegetable seeds in Shouguang, Shandong Province has increased from 54% before 2010 to more than 70%. Zucchini, once an imported variety with a market share of more than 80%, has basically realized the full replacement of domestic seeds.
