Since the award was established in 1996, only eight engineering science and technology experts including zhangguangdou, shichangxu, zhuguangya, Panjiazheng, qianzhengying, Zhongnanshan, xukuangdi and pengshilu have won the award. Constantly strive to break the blockade of foreign communication technologies From 1951 to 1952, Zhu Gaofeng studied in the Department of physics of Tsinghua University, and was later selected to study at the Leningrad Institute of telecommunications engineering in the Soviet Union. In 1958, he returned to China after graduation. Since then, he has been engaged in Telecommunications Research for a long time. At that time, China's communication equipment was changing from all imports to self-development, and the National Post and telecommunications departments set off an upsurge of large-scale manufacturing of carrier machines. From 3-channel, 12 channel to 60 channel carrier, zhugaofeng participated in relevant work, especially the design and development of the line transmission system of the cable 60 channel carrier system. At first, due to the large gap between the system performance and index requirements of domestic equipment, zhugaofeng led technicians to conduct tests on the 300km line from Beijing to Shijiazhuang for nearly five years, measuring and modifying around the machine day and night. After hard work, zhugaofeng and researchers finally figured out some basic problems of long-distance communication system, and summarized the superposition law of crosstalk and system noise between outgoing line pairs, line equalization deviation and its superposition law. Subsequently, the communication equipment was improved, all indicators met the requirements and successfully put into use. Since 1969, zhugaofeng has served as the leader of the overall design team for the development of China's first mid coaxial 1800 channel carrier. After hard research, zhugaofeng and his team made 1800 channel carrier system test equipment for coaxial cable in Meishan, Sichuan. The test prototype was identified and finalized in 1975, and various indexes can meet the requirements. "This is a huge step forward based on the 60 way symmetrical cable system, which is roughly equivalent to the level of a large number of practical equipment in developed countries at that time." Zhugaofeng said that since then, the equipment has been installed and used on the Beijing Wuhan Guangzhou trunk line, becoming the trunk line in the long-distance communication network for quite a long time before the large-scale use of optical cables in China. After completing the development of 1800 channel coaxial carrier, he devoted himself to the development of 4380 channel coaxial cable carrier. This system requires an unmanned repeater station to be set every 3 kilometers, which has wide frequency band and great technical difficulty. For this reason, zhugaofeng, who is in charge of the overall design, led the team to adopt advanced technologies such as pre equalization and pre adjustment. Some of the technologies reached the level of foreign ten thousand channel carrier systems, breaking the international blockade on China's communication technology and achieving fruitful scientific research results. In 1985, the project won the first prize of the national science and technology progress award. At that time, zhugaofeng was the former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Posts and telecommunications, so he was not listed in the award. Take a long-term view and lead the scientific research and academic direction from a strategic height In the 1980s, the telephone penetration rate in China was still very low. Zhu Gaofeng proposed and organized the construction of the national long-distance automatic telephone network, put forward the overall idea of network operation reliability, and vigorously promoted the development of communication network theory. In the 1990s, he organized the formulation of China's long-distance network plan, which played a leading role in the construction of 22 optical fiber trunk lines in China during the Eighth Five Year Plan period. As the former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Posts and telecommunications, zhugaofeng was in charge of telecommunications, postal services, foreign affairs, finance and planning. He made unique achievements in promoting the development of China's telecommunications economy and network disciplines, the construction of China's telecommunications national automatic telephone network, the system and network construction of central post offices, the reform of telecommunications maintenance system, and the establishment of economic accounting system, and made important contributions to the development of China's telecommunications industry. In 1994, the Chinese Academy of engineering was established. Zhugaofeng was elected as one of the first academicians and served as the executive vice president of the Chinese Academy of engineering. During his work in the Academy of engineering, facing a wider and wider research field, zhugaofeng put forward higher requirements for himself and organized academicians to investigate the aviation industry, metallurgical industry, machinery industry and other industries. Zhugaofeng often said that we should make clear the situation, analyze and study the situation in a practical and realistic way, and then form our own opinions. Focusing on the development direction of China's manufacturing industry, he also presided over the major decision-making consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering - China's manufacturing industry development strategy. At that time, some experts at home and abroad proposed that China could skip the industrialization stage and directly enter the post industrial society, opposing China's development of manufacturing industry. This triggered extensive discussion at that time. Zhu Gaofeng adhered to the principle of seeking truth from facts, presided over and carried out the above consultation projects, closely linked with reality, and pointed out that the role of information should be fully understood and paid full attention to, but not exaggerated. Material production is the foundation of society. The production of necessities of clothing, food, housing and transportation is not a "sunset industry", especially in China, where the productivity level is still very low. China is far from completing the task of industrialization, and the industrialization stage can only be accelerated but can not be crossed. While reporting to the leaders of the State Council and gaining recognition, Zhu Gaofeng also publicized in various places through various ways, and achieved good results, which played an important role in formulating a correct industrial development strategy in China. Preach and teach, and always pay attention to the cultivation of Engineering Talents From 1998 to 2002, zhugaofeng served as the first chairman of the Education Committee of the Chinese Academy of engineering, and took the lead in presiding over topics related to the development and reform of China's engineering education. He insisted on investigation and research, and put forward guiding opinions on the development of China's engineering education, which attracted extensive attention. In addition, he also participated in and presided over the education consulting projects of several engineering academies. In recent years, he has published many articles on engineering education to discuss engineering education. Zhugaofeng believes that the practice of China's higher education, especially the reform of engineering education, has proved that in order to achieve continuous success and cultivate a large number of talents who meet the needs of the society, in addition to the clear concept, correct concept and continuous improvement of system construction, there should also be reasonable checks and balances and active and effective collaborative participation of all stakeholders under the constraints of specific legal norms. According to Zhu Gaofeng, this is not a simple education management problem, but a university governance problem that integrates internal and external factors of the education system. Success cannot be achieved overnight. It depends on long-term persistence, correct macro decision-making and practical promotion of university governance. On May 19 not long ago, Zhu Gaofeng also published a signed article in Guangming Daily, once again making an in-depth analysis on the construction and development of the engineer team in the new development stage, with sincere and affectionate words.
