At a press conference held by the Guangzhou municipal government, Yang Bingsheng, member of the Party committee and deputy director of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau, introduced the measures and achievements of the public security organs in combating intellectual property related crimes in recent years. According to Yang Bingsheng, at the beginning of 2021, Guangzhou public security further integrated its work functions, strengthened the functions of cracking down on crimes of infringing intellectual property rights and crimes of manufacturing and selling fake and inferior commodities in the field of food and drugs, and put them under the jurisdiction of the food, drug and environmental crime investigation department, forming a powerful work pattern of integrating with the superior public security organs and horizontally connecting with the administrative supervision department. Since last year, for criminal cases of infringement of intellectual property rights, the number of cases filed and investigated by the city's public security organs has increased by 76% year-on-year, and the number of cases solved has increased by 75% year-on-year. The combat effectiveness ranks among the forefront of the province. In terms of carrying out special crackdown and rectification, Guangzhou Public Security conducted a comprehensive analysis, sorting out and comprehensive research and judgment on the relatively prominent criminal clues of making and selling fake goods in the city in recent years. Among them, Guangzhou Public Security carried out an inventory and rectification of the problem of making and selling fake goods. 148 people were criminally detained and 162 dens were destroyed, involving a total amount of 890 million yuan. We launched a special crackdown on the crime of manufacturing and selling fake clothes, hats, shoes and clothing, solved 30 cases and criminally detained 87 people. We launched a special campaign to crack down on the production and sale of fake liquor, destroyed 36 dens for making fake liquor, and criminally detained 66 people, involving more than 130 million yuan. Aiming at the gang crime of making and selling counterfeit goods across provinces and cities, Guangzhou public security implemented a whole chain crackdown, and successively cracked a large series of cases of making and selling counterfeit brand TV sets, involving a value of 100 million yuan. A case of manufacturing and selling fake and inferior red wine was solved, and 24 dens for manufacturing and selling fake wine were destroyed, involving an amount of nearly 1 billion yuan. At the same time, the public security organs have severely cracked down on the crimes of infringing trade secrets and copyright that hinder the innovation and development of enterprises and infringe on the interests of enterprises. Since last year, 12 relevant criminal cases have been filed and investigated, and 6 people have been criminally detained. Yang Bingsheng said that while continuing to crack down on crimes, Guangzhou public security has made great efforts to strengthen coordination and communication with all parties, jointly promote systematic and comprehensive management, and improve the overall efficiency of its work. In the crackdown work, actively feed back problems to relevant functional departments and promote comprehensive treatment.
