Seeing the change of Tibetan education from students' nutritional lunch

2022-03-14

In March, the Tibetan Plateau ushered in the opening season of major primary and secondary schools. Unlike usual, six primary schools in Lhasa City have ushered in the centralized supply of nutritious lunch. This education and people's livelihood project has been planned since 2020. During the interview, the reporter followed the staff to visit the production process of the central kitchen not far from the city center. Check the quality inspection report, check and accept the food materials, process the dishes, pack the meals and get on the train. Everything is in order. 12000 meals, after hours of processing. At about 12 noon, dining cars were sent to schools one after another. About 20 minutes later, the reporter followed the dining car to Lhasa No. 3 primary school. Parents on duty have been waiting at school in advance to help distribute nutritious lunch, take care of students, recycle lunch boxes and so on. The lunch box is served with three meat and one vegetable: Stewed Beef with radish, braised pork with potatoes and fried lotus white. The students were excited that there were different dishes on that day, and some students had a better aftertaste of the chicken leg at noon the day before. Ye Tao, the relevant person in charge of the central kitchen in pure land Lhasa, said that the kitchen has formulated a menu for March, and the menu at noon is different every day. It not only ensures the balanced nutrition of meals, but also takes into account the different tastes of students. Mima CIREN is the parent of the third primary school in Lhasa. He said: "my wife and I are office workers. The time to pick up the children home for dinner at noon is tight. The centralized feeding has solved our big problem. The children are in grade one. They picked up the children home for dinner every day last semester. The time is tight." "The two meat and one vegetable menu basically meets the nutritional balance of students. If parents take turns to take care of them, children will not be as capricious and picky as at home," he said Mima CIREN also frankly expressed her concerns and hoped to provide a mechanism for going to the kitchen to supervise at any time. She also hoped that the kitchen could take care of the taboo that some Tibetan people do not eat fish. In this regard, ye Tao also said that many dishes with similar nutrition can replace fish. Considering the dietary safety of young students, these are not in the scope of supply. Chengguan District is the core area of Lhasa. There are 8 middle schools, 17 primary schools, 97 public and private kindergartens, and most of them are equipped with student canteens. Wang Rui, deputy director of Chengguan District Education Bureau, said that the six schools that centrally supply nutritious lunch are basically in the main urban area of Lhasa, and the shortage of land is the main reason restricting the construction of canteens in these schools. In order to better implement the "Three Guarantees" (including food, housing and learning expenses) policy in Tibet and reduce the burden of parents picking up their children for dinner, the central kitchen has been planned since 2020. At present, about 12000 nutritious lunches are normally provided for students every day. He said that nutritious lunch has strengthened the cooperation between "home and school". Students' parents take turns to help the school distribute lunch, take care of students' meals and supervise the safety and health situation at the same time. Previously, relevant principals of each school were organized to go to the kitchen to understand the situation, and parent representatives will be organized to visit and supervise from time to time in the later stage. In addition, the video monitoring system of pure land Lhasa central kitchen will also be connected to the quality supervision department for supervision. The supply of nutritious lunch for students is only the epitome of the development of education in Tibet. In the eyes of most people, nutritious lunch is also a concrete manifestation of the balanced and high-quality development of education. Since 1985, Tibet has implemented the "Three Guarantees" policy. In the past 30 years, the funding standard of "Three Guarantees" for education has been raised at least 18 times. In 2012, Tibet took the lead in realizing 15 years of public education, covering from preschool education to senior high school. Tibet has also raised and set up 40 educational subsidy measures, and established a student subsidy system from preschool education to higher education. The scope of subsidy covers all school stages, public and private schools, and students with financial difficulties. With the continuous development of education informatization, the "Internet plus education" basically covers primary school and secondary schools in Tibet, and the teaching staff is becoming more and more healthy.
