The law of the people's Republic of China on the protection of consumers' rights and interests stipulates that if an online trading platform provider knows or should know that a seller or service provider uses its platform to infringe upon the legitimate rights and interests of consumers and fails to take necessary measures, it shall bear joint and several liability with the seller or service provider according to law. The e-commerce law of the people's Republic of China also makes it clear that for goods or services related to the life and health of consumers, if the operator of the e-commerce platform fails to fulfill the obligation to review the qualification of the operator in the platform, or fails to fulfill the obligation of safety and security for consumers, resulting in damage to consumers, he shall bear corresponding responsibilities according to law.
