From November 29 to 30 local time, the eighth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China Africa cooperation was held in Dakar. State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi and Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao co chaired the meeting with Senegalese foreign minister aisatta and Minister of economy, planning and cooperation Ott. Wang Yi said that despite novel coronavirus pneumonia, China and Africa have overcome difficulties and held a meeting on a pragmatic and efficient basis, and reached broad consensus on the theme of the meeting. Wang Yi said that the meeting reviewed the achievements of Sino African relations development and Sino African solidarity and anti epidemic since the Beijing summit of the China Africa Cooperation Forum. It considered the implementation of the eight major actions of the Beijing summit, and adopted a series of outcome documents, which became the largest number of achievements documents in past sessions, which fully reflected the high quality and high level of Sino African cooperation. It demonstrates the firm determination of China and Africa to seek common development, meet challenges and share opportunities in the new era. Wang Yi said that we unanimously decided to continue to promote anti epidemic cooperation. *** *** Wang Yi expressed that we had in-depth discussions on major issues such as the international situation and global governance, and agreed to promote true multilateralism, firmly safeguard the international system with the United Nations as the core and the international order based on international law, firmly safeguard the sovereignty, security and development interests of China and Africa, and safeguard the common interests of developing countries. We will increase the representation and voice of developing countries, including African countries, in the international arena and jointly build a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice, and win-win cooperation. Wang Yi stressed that China Africa cooperation bucked the trend and showed strong resilience and potential. We should take the implementation of the outcomes of this forum as an opportunity to better benefit the Chinese and African people. First, make great strides along the broad road of building a community of common destiny in China and Africa in the new era. We will unswervingly follow the development path in line with our national conditions, deepen dialogue and exchanges on governance, adhere to taking our own future and destiny into our own hands, and firmly support each other's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, security and development interests. China Africa will promote one belt, one road and the global development initiative, which will be deeply linked to the Au agenda 2063, the construction of the African continent free trade area and the development strategies of African countries. Second, open up a new situation of quality improvement and upgrading and high-quality development of China Africa cooperation. We will continue to adhere to the spirit of the forum of consultation, co construction and sharing, jointly implement the "nine projects", strive to promote the transformation and upgrading of China Africa cooperation to health, improving people's livelihood, green development, digital economy and capacity-building, and make greater contributions to Africa's post epidemic economic recovery and sustainable development. China has always been Africa's most sincere and reliable partner. China's investment in Africa will only increase, not decrease. Third, adhere to traditional friendship and let China Africa friendship pass on from generation to generation. Carry forward the "spirit of China Africa friendship and cooperation", tell African stories in China and Chinese stories in Africa, and be a good contributor and defender of China Africa friendship. We will strengthen exchanges between young people and women, actively care for and protect overseas Chinese on both sides, cultivate more forces to be familiar with China Africa relations, love China Africa cooperation and care for China Africa friendship, so as to make the flower of China Africa friendship cultivated by the older generation flourish. Fourth, safeguard genuine multilateralism and international fairness and justice. Adhere to the just propositions of China and Africa and the vast number of developing countries, and promote the development of the international order in a more just and reasonable direction. China is willing to work with Africa to promote more countries and international organizations to join the global development initiative and the partnership for Africa's development initiative, so as to form a stronger joint force of the international community in supporting Africa's development. Foreign ministers or representatives of 53 African countries and ministers of economy, trade and finance attended the meeting. *** They said that China has become an indispensable partner in Africa's development, and the forum has become the most important accelerator for Africa China cooperation. China will actively support one belt, one road to the other, and the other is to support China's initiative in Africa. The meeting adopted the Dakar declaration, the Dakar action plan (2022-2024), the Declaration on China Africa cooperation in combating climate change and the 2035 vision of China Africa cooperation. After the closing of the meeting, Wang Yi and ISATA jointly met with reporters. During the meeting, commerce minister Wang Wentao introduced the implementation of the "eight actions" of the Beijing Summit and explained the vision for China Africa cooperation in 2035.
