Fifty years ago, the 26th United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 2758 by an overwhelming majority, decided to restore all the rights of the people's Republic of China in the United Nations, recognized that the representative of the government of the people's Republic of China was the only legitimate representative of China in the United Nations, and clearly and completely solved the problem of China's representation in the United Nations politically, legally and procedurally. With the advent of the important anniversary of the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the legitimate seat of new China in the United Nations, the authorities of the Democratic Progressive Party in Taiwan and some politicians in the United States sing in harmony with each other, creating a perverse trend of distorting and attacking General Assembly Resolution 2758. A US official said that Taiwan was excluded from United Nations activities because "China mistakenly used Resolution 2758". Member States should join the United States and "support Taiwan's meaningful participation". In addition, US politicians dished out the fallacy that "the United States should recognize Taiwan's" independent state "status". The Foreign Relations Department of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities kept saying thanks and echoed that the General Assembly Resolution 2758 only dealt with the issue of China's representation in the United Nations, but did not mention Taiwan and did not involve the so-called "Taiwan representation" issue. Such a distorted interpretation of General Assembly Resolution 2758 is ignorant and ridiculous. The purpose of American politicians is nothing more than to find new targets for "using Taiwan to control China" and instigate the DPP authorities to continue to act as "Anti China" pawns. The DPP authorities thought that there was a new "path" for "international participation", so they worked hard to cooperate with the performance in an attempt to create political incidents and seek political self-interest by taking advantage of the general Taiwan people's lack of understanding of the time and space background of the General Assembly's adoption of resolution 2758. However, the rapprochement between the DPP authorities and American politicians cannot change the iron fact that Taiwan is a part of China; Wantonly challenging UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 is doomed to futility. General Assembly Resolution 2758 recognizes the representative of the government of the people's Republic of China as the only legitimate representative of China to the United Nations. For decades, the United Nations and the general membership have recognized that there is only one China in the world and that Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory, and have fully respected China's sovereignty over Taiwan. China's representation in the United Nations is, of course, the representation of all China, including Taiwan. The DPP authorities falsely claim that Resolution 2758 does not solve the so-called "Taiwan representation" issue. Their rhetoric is based on the separatist proposition that "Taiwan is not a part of China". It is a naked provocation for "independence". General Assembly Resolution 2758 did not mention "Taiwan" precisely because it dealt with the issue of the representation of all China, including Taiwan. At that time, both sides of the Taiwan Strait advocated that there was only one China in the world, which was also the common understanding of the international community. From the perspective of the United Nations and the general membership, Taiwan is a part of China. Solving the problem of China's representation naturally solves the problem of the representation of the whole of China, including Taiwan. As for the political differences between the two sides of the Strait, in the view of the United Nations and the majority of Member States, it is China's own internal problem, and there is no need for the United Nations to intervene, let alone others to talk about it. The restoration of new China's legitimate seat in the United Nations is the result of the joint efforts of all peace loving and justice upholding countries in the world. The return of the Chinese people, who account for one quarter of the world's population, to the United Nations stage is of great and far-reaching significance to China and the world. The Chinese people have always upheld the authority and status of the United Nations and practiced multilateralism. The United Nations is an intergovernmental international organization composed of sovereign states. The legal validity and status of the resolutions made by the United Nations General Assembly are beyond doubt. International rules can only be formulated by 193 member states of the United Nations, not by individual countries and groups of countries. International rules should be observed by the 193 member states of the United Nations, without and without exceptions. General Assembly Resolution 2758 embodies the authority of international law, which cannot be distorted or challenged. In recent years, the DPP authorities have frequently hyped the so-called "international participation" issue in order to create confrontation and seek political self-interest. In fact, the mainland attaches great importance to the aspirations and concerns of Taiwan compatriots to participate in international activities. In the economic, social, cultural, sports, health and other fields, under the premise of the one China principle, the mainland will do its utmost to make appropriate arrangements for Taiwan compatriots. Facts have proved that only under the premise of the one China principle can the interests and well-being of the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots be effectively safeguarded in the international community and their strength be stronger. All kinds of "independence" words and deeds of the DPP authorities have an impact on peace in the Taiwan Strait and damage the well-being of the Taiwan people, which is a serious hidden danger of peace in the Taiwan Strait. People on both sides of the Strait should polish their eyes, see through the sinister intentions of us politicians and the DPP authorities in challenging the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 and the essence of "Taiwan independence", and join hands to resolutely resist the separatist act of "Taiwan independence".
