Using artificial intelligence to assist in educational reform

On the occasion of the three-year implementation of the national education digitalization strategy, the Ministry of Education and nine other departments have issued the "Opinions on Accelerating the Promotion of Education Digitalization" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions"), based on experience, solving problems, and continuing to deepen the layout of the national education digitalization strategy, using artificial intelligence to assist education reform. On April 16th, the Ministry of Education held a press conference to introduce the relevant situation of promoting the digitalization of education. In the past three years of deepening the integration of resources, services, and data, the Ministry of Education has made breakthrough progress in implementing the national education digitalization strategy, and has built the world's largest public education resource platform, public education service platform, and public lifelong learning platform. In terms of integration, the Opinion proposes to use the National Smart Education Public Service Platform as a hub to integrate high-quality platforms, resources, and services at all levels, gradually achieving unified entry points, resource sharing, and data integration. Gather high-quality resources around the four major fields of basic education, vocational education, higher education, and lifelong education, as well as the five major sections of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. We need to continuously upgrade the public service functions of the national platform. Promote the "efficient completion of one thing" and expand the "one-stop service" of education public services. Zhou Dawang, Director of the Science, Technology and Information Technology Department of the Ministry of Education, introduced that in terms of upgrading the national platform, the Ministry of Education will continue to build the National Smart Education Platform 2.0 Intelligent Edition. Introducing technologies such as intelligent interaction, knowledge graph, and multimodal data analysis, optimizing intelligent functions such as classroom evaluation and resource search, improving the "AI testing ground", focusing on four aspects: student learning, teacher teaching, educational governance, and scientific research, gathering innovative forces from high-level universities and enterprises, organizing the research and development of forward-looking practical AI tools, integrating with domestic general models, and helping teachers and students better master AI skills. To further activate the potential of artificial intelligence in reshaping education, the Opinion clearly states that we must comprehensively promote intelligence, adhere to moral education and people-oriented, and cultivate students' higher-order thinking, thinking and judgment abilities, and practical skills. According to the situation of technological development, adjust the layout of disciplines and majors, cultivate the basic abilities of teachers and students, and deepen the integration of artificial intelligence with teaching, learning, management, evaluation, research and other scenarios. Yang Zongkai, Director of the Education Digitalization Expert Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Education and President of Wuhan University of Technology, stated that it is necessary to actively build a large-scale model of artificial intelligence in Chinese education, continuously create a number of specialized large-scale models in the vertical field of education, and orderly carry out pilot applications of artificial intelligence education. We need to continuously deepen the integration of artificial intelligence and the entire process of education and teaching, establish typical demonstrations in subject construction, talent cultivation, etc. We need to constantly improve the digital leadership of managers and the digital literacy of teachers, and promote teachers to use artificial intelligence to create high-quality classrooms with higher levels, innovation, and challenges. We should widely carry out general education on artificial intelligence in multiple stages, and shape the core competitiveness of innovative talents who adapt to the era of intelligence and master artificial intelligence. Yang Zongkai believes that digital technology is constantly impacting and disrupting our understanding and practice of education. The question of what education is and where education is going has become a global consensus. As a responsible major country, China actively practices the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind and shares the development opportunities and practical achievements of digital education with the world. Zhou Dawang introduced that the "Opinions" propose to continuously enhance the international influence of digital education, promote the international co construction and sharing of digital education resources, create a globally influential digital education brand, empower international talent cultivation, actively participate in the governance of global digital education, clearly propose to build an international version of the national platform, continue to implement the "MOOC Going Global" action, and empower the construction of vocational education going global projects such as "Luban Workshop". Continuously hosting the World Digital Education Conference and other events, establishing overseas learning centers for digital education, and promoting China's digital education standards to become an international consensus. Through international cooperation and exchange, enhance the international influence of China's digital education and contribute Chinese wisdom and solutions to the development of global digital education.
