Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments issued a notice on announcing the first batch of pilot projects for large-scale application of vehicle network interaction (hereinafter referred to as the "Notice"), which includes 9 cities including Shanghai and 30 projects such as the "Beijing V2G vehicle network interaction collaborative regulation pilot project based on new energy storage" in the scope of the first batch of pilot projects for large-scale application of vehicle network interaction. Multiple companies have also stated that they will further expand their deployment of vehicle network interaction technology and application scenarios. Industry insiders point out that vehicle network interaction technology can improve the efficiency of power grid operation. By accelerating the exploration of vehicle network interaction landing models through large-scale pilot projects, it is expected to help further improve the energy replenishment infrastructure for new energy vehicles. The necessity of promoting the application of vehicle network interaction highlights that vehicle network interaction refers to the connection between new energy vehicles and the power supply network through charging and swapping facilities, mainly including intelligent orderly charging, bidirectional charging and discharging (V2G), and other forms. The reporter learned that by constructing a two-way interactive system of information flow and energy flow between new energy vehicles and power supply networks, vehicle network interaction can effectively leverage the flexible adjustment ability of vehicle mounted power batteries as controllable loads or mobile energy storage. Tong Zongqi, Deputy Secretary General of the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, pointed out in an interview that the technology of vehicle network interaction is based on the charging and discharging capabilities of new energy vehicle batteries, which can provide flexible adjustment support for the power grid and achieve peak shaving and valley filling of the power system. Especially in the context of the explosive growth of the new energy vehicle market, it can effectively alleviate the pressure of centralized charging in the power grid and promote the efficient consumption of new energy electricity. Taking Shanghai as an example, it has promoted over 1.6 million new energy vehicles, combined with the promotion of intelligent and orderly charging technology and the mature operation of the demand response market, giving it the fundamental advantage of undertaking pilot projects Yu Qianwen, Deputy Director of the Smart Energy Center of State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company, stated in an interview with reporters that a relatively complete path for charging and swapping resources to participate in the demand response market has been established. During the peak summer season last year, the maximum response load of charging and swapping exceeded 170000 kilowatts, demonstrating the practical value of vehicle network interaction. Wu Songquan, Senior Chief Expert of China Automotive Center and Chief Engineer of China Automotive Strategy and Policy Research Center, stated that as of the end of 2024, the number of new energy vehicles in China will reach 31.4 million. Based on this number of vehicles, China Automotive Strategy and Policy Research Center estimates that the annual charging capacity of new energy vehicles in 2030 will be about 250 billion kilowatt hours, accounting for 2.2% of the total social power generation that year. However, the large-scale and disorderly charging of new energy vehicles will bring enormous pressure to the balance of supply and demand in the power system, highlighting the necessity of large-scale promotion and application of vehicle network interaction. Through large-scale promotion and application, vehicle network interaction can provide new scheduling resources for power system regulation and avoid excessive investment in the power grid. According to the prediction of the China Automotive Strategy and Policy Research Center, the number of new energy vehicles in China will exceed 100 million by 2030, theoretically forming a power grid regulation capacity of about 1 billion kilowatts, and the overall scale is very considerable. Meanwhile, through vehicle network interaction, new energy vehicle users can obtain certain benefits from grid energy interaction, enhancing the competitiveness of new energy vehicle products Wu Songquan said. Under the promotion of relevant policies and market demand, many enterprises are actively laying out and exploring the technology of vehicle network interaction projects for application pilot projects. On March 28th, Southern Power Grid Corporation organized the first cross provincial linkage of vehicle network interaction in China, covering 63 cities in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, and Hainan provinces and regions, with over 100000 electric vehicles participating. This event promotes the consumption of 500000 kWh of new energy electricity, equivalent to the daily electricity consumption of 50000 households, and car owners receive a profit of over 400000 yuan. Since the launch of vehicle network interaction in May last year, the Southern Power Grid Business Zone has cumulatively promoted the consumption of 8 million kilowatt hours of new energy electricity Li Minhong, Marketing Director of Southern Power Grid Corporation, introduced. During this pilot process, TeDian has led or participated in more than 8 pilot projects. Based on its accumulated experience in charging network construction, vehicle network interaction technology, and operation, TeDian is currently increasing its layout in the construction and operation of V2G charging and discharging facilities, integrated charging stations for light storage and charging, microgrids, virtual power plants, and other aspects During an interview, Gong Chengming, Vice President of Telephone, stated. The relevant person in charge of NIO told reporters that they are currently cooperating with Beijing Electric Power Company to carry out research on the "Beijing V2G Vehicle Network Interactive Collaborative Regulation Pilot Project based on New Energy Storage". A set of NIO's third-generation bidirectional converter stations has been put into operation in Songzhuang area of Tongzhou, Beijing, exploring the application effect of bidirectional converter stations in dynamic support and voltage governance of the distribution network in the substation. The pilot project we have selected this time is a comprehensive pilot project for urban vehicle network interaction based on a new power load management system. It is expected to start project operation in the second half of this year. This project will integrate seven types of charging and swapping resources, including public areas, bus stations, parks, residential communities, and swapping stations, through a vehicle network interactive public service platform to participate in bidirectional charging and discharging of the power grid, providing more flexibility support for the power system. Next, we will further expand the pilot scope, increase research efforts in technology, standards, market mechanisms, and other aspects, and form replicable and promotable large-scale application cases of car network interaction Yu Qianwen said. Southern Power Grid Corporation stated that it will take the opportunity of being selected as one of the first batch of pilot projects for large-scale application of vehicle grid interaction, fully leverage the role of central enterprise platforms, continuously improve market mechanisms, promote the integration and interaction between electric vehicles and the power grid, assist in the construction of new energy systems and new power systems, and provide support for accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system. Large scale application requires joint efforts from multiple parties. Some industry insiders have pointed out that there are still some bottlenecks in the further implementation of car network interaction, such as insufficient battery life, unclear business models, and inconsistent standards and specifications, which restrict the application of technology and require joint breakthroughs from multiple parties. Gong Chengming pointed out that vehicle network interaction can transform electric vehicles from "grid burden" to "flexible regulation of resources", but its large-scale development still needs to break through the bottlenecks of core technologies, standard systems, and business models. On the one hand, breakthroughs are still needed in technologies and management such as post meter resource measurement certification and efficient integration of load side regulation resources into the power grid, in order to seek economically reliable interactive solutions. On the other hand, leading incentive policies, sustainable market policies, standard systems, and a vehicle network interaction ecosystem deeply participated by industries such as automobile companies and insurance still need to be continuously constructed and improved, in order to promote the true scale and sustainable development of vehicle network interaction. To address existing problems, it is necessary for automobile companies, battery manufacturers, and research institutions to work together to achieve further breakthroughs in core technologies such as battery safety. At the same time, it is necessary to build a sustainable development ecosystem, promote power grid enterprises to improve the two-way electricity trading mechanism, and gradually reduce dependence on subsidies. Flag said, 'With the' Notice ' The pilot applications released continue to advance, and the technology of vehicle network interaction has shifted from local independent exploration to national pilot system promotion. Large scale application pilot projects can accelerate the exploration and breakthrough of existing problems, and vehicle network interaction has also entered a new stage of development. In the future, it is expected to significantly enhance the resilience of the power system and provide a 'Chinese solution' for global transportation energy integration (New Society)
