Lecture on the Military Sports Training Outline - Understanding the Essence of "Combat Physical Fitness"

2025-04-09

Second class Sergeant Zheng Na of a certain ship is conducting a medicine ball forward push training. In early spring, on the coast of the South China Sea, the gentle breeze brushes against my face. Accompanied by the sound of waves crashing, a combat physical training session was hotly underway on the training ground of a naval base. Hulling hard pull, medicine ball forward push, load pull strap, hexagonal run... Officers and soldiers challenge their physical limits. Not long ago, the newly revised "Military Sports Training Outline" (hereinafter referred to as the "Outline") was officially issued, and our military sports training has shifted from focusing on healthy physical fitness to focusing on combat physical fitness. On the basis of inheriting previous strengths, the Outline distinguishes four parts: basic knowledge, basic physical fitness, combat physical fitness, and practical skills, and comprehensively optimizes and reshapes the content of military physical training assessment. The core physical fitness courses are structured according to the "1+1+X" system (basic physical fitness+general combat physical fitness+specialized combat physical fitness for military branches). In order to help comrades understand the "Military Sports Training Outline", the Southern Theater Command Navy organized a series of activities to promote the "Outline" and "Training Injury Prevention and Control Science Popularization into Military Camps". Multiple military sports training experts and sports medicine expert teams from Wuhan Sports Institute were invited to various affiliated units to give lectures on the "Outline" to officers and soldiers, demonstrate combat physical fitness courses that officers and soldiers are concerned about, and carry out training injury prevention and control science popularization activities. In response to the characteristics of limited workspace for naval officers and soldiers, as well as the risk of lower back pain caused by prolonged sitting and standing, the "Outline" has designed corresponding training courses and created combat physical fitness courses for naval ship units At a naval base, Yan Zhiyong from the Naval Engineering University explained in detail to the officers and soldiers the reasons for compiling the Outline, the main contents, physical fitness assessment content, and training methods. Facing strong opponents on the future battlefield, increasing the "combat readiness" of military training is an important foundation for developing the ability to fight and win. The specialized combat physical fitness of military branches is closely related to the actual research and creation of military branches, and is more closely aligned with the needs of specialized physical fitness. Regarding practical skills, new courses such as obstacle swimming and water self rescue and mutual aid have been added to enhance the ability of officers and soldiers to carry out diversified military tasks involving water and sea. Yan Zhiyong emphasized that "the addition of new courses is not only to improve the physical fitness of officers and soldiers, but also to strengthen their practical skills." The new training courses require more scientific and adapted training methods. Several military training experts demonstrated the standard process and techniques of continuous assessment for combat physical fitness, which is of concern to officers and soldiers. Through practical exercises, officers and soldiers have gained a clearer understanding of the practical significance of combat physical fitness. Through combat physical training, many officers and soldiers have gained a deeper understanding and recognition of the phrase 'how to fight, how to train soldiers.'. After the practical exercise, each unit elected an outstanding representative and a small competition was held among them. Among them, a slightly frail female soldier caught everyone's attention, and she was Sergeant Zheng Na from a certain ship. She signed up for the competition with the encouragement of her comrades. Not bad, her movements are very standard In the first kettlebell hard pull lesson, Zheng Na's performance won recognition from military training experts. In the end, she finished the combat physical fitness assessment with a time of 4 minutes and 12 seconds. Good grades and standard movements, Zheng Na's performance won rounds of applause from experts and comrades. I used to enjoy going to the gym for strength training myself and have been doing it for over a year now. After the addition of assessment courses for combat physical fitness in the "Outline", many comrades transferred from the track and field to the gym to work with me on strengthening, especially the newly added core strength training Walking off the competition field, Zheng Na smiled and said, "Combat physical fitness is a newly added subject in the 'Outline', and we have been practicing it ourselves for about two weeks. This time, the military physical training expert came to correct some of the wrong movements and methods in our usual group training. Only with standardized movements can we achieve results and prevent injuries. I have learned a lot from the expert and benefited a lot." On the other side of the training field, officers and soldiers are undergoing intensive training for the combat physical fitness decomposition project. The use of elastic bands for bow and arrow forward push training and the use of wave speed balls for single foot stability training can strengthen trunk control ability and body stability, enhance the strength of related muscle groups, and help naval officers and soldiers improve their body coordination ability under unstable conditions. It is an important part of naval officers and soldiers' reserve training in shore ports. As a top military physical trainer in the brigade, First Class Sergeant Yu Zhenyu has a deep understanding of combat physical training. The load pulling course made him realize his weakness in upper limb strength. With the advice of military training experts, he started training with light loads and gradually increased the load to improve his physical fitness. Many courses in combat physical fitness were previously organized for officers and soldiers to conduct training, but there was no such systematic approach. The assessment criteria for combat physical fitness have helped us clarify the requirements for regular military physical training. Our officers and soldiers on board can also receive targeted training when carrying out missions at sea Zhang Yushuai, a cadre of a certain naval unit, said, "The training methods in the Outline are detailed and highly operable, and there is no need to supervise. Many officers and soldiers actively engage in physical fitness reserve training." "Through this preaching activity, we found that officers and soldiers still have problems such as insufficient value recognition of combat physical fitness, lack of key technologies, and insufficient scientific group training." Zhang Shaoyong from the Naval Noncommissioned Officer School said, "Next, we will focus on guiding officers and soldiers in training content, training methods and methods, group training management, and condition guarantee, etc., to complete the transformation from health physical fitness as the main focus to combat physical fitness as the main focus. At the same time, we will increase regular practical activities such as military physical training backbone training, form sustained positive stimulation, and stimulate officers and soldiers. Training enthusiasm, improving the scientific and refined training level of the troops In conjunction with the "Outline" lecture, the Southern Theater Command Navy also invited Professor Yang Yi from Wuhan Sports Institute to give a popular science lecture on training injury prevention and control. The lecture focused on the common lower limb injuries and diseases among naval officers and soldiers in military sports training, explaining the principles of injury occurrence and prevention measures, aiming to enhance the awareness and scientific training level of officers and soldiers in preventing injuries and diseases during training, and effectively reduce the incidence of training injuries. The sunset slanted down on the training ground, and the officers and soldiers sweated profusely, running at high speed with both positive and negative weights... (New Press)
