The national video conference on employment and entrepreneurship for college graduates and other young people was held in Beijing on April 2nd. Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Ding Xuexiang pointed out that college graduates are valuable talent resources for the Party and the country, and the employment and entrepreneurship work of young people such as college graduates is closely related to thousands of households. We must thoroughly study and implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, implement the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, adhere to the top priority of employment for young people such as college graduates, and ensure the overall stability of youth employment level. Ding Xuexiang emphasized the need to do everything possible to increase employment opportunities and fully promote high-quality and full employment for college graduates. Pay more attention to expanding positions in key areas and industries, and develop new employment growth points in promoting industrial development. Efforts should be made to stabilize and increase employment at the grassroots level in urban and rural areas, strengthen supporting policies and guarantees, and enable college graduates to "go down, stay, and do well". Actively support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, expand job supply, and stimulate the enthusiasm and initiative of enterprises to absorb college graduates. To better leverage the comprehensive effects of policies, various employment promotion policies should be implemented as early as possible, and policy positions should be stable in scale and recruited early and frequently. Intensify support and implementation of preferential policies for entrepreneurship, promote innovation and entrepreneurship among college students, and drive employment. Ding Xuexiang stated that we should devote ourselves wholeheartedly to providing employment guidance services, helping graduates find better and faster employment opportunities. Strengthen ideological and political education, guide graduates to choose careers and positions rationally and pragmatically based on the needs of national development and personal reality. Implement the "one-on-one" assistance responsibility, improve the assistance ledger, and prioritize serving the disadvantaged graduate population. Strengthen employability training to help graduates smoothly transition from school to the workplace. Ding Xuexiang requested that all regions, departments, and universities strengthen organizational leadership, consolidate work responsibilities, strengthen supervision, inspection, and data monitoring, safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of graduates, create a good public opinion environment, and jointly do a good job in the employment of college graduates, which is a matter of national economy and people's livelihood. State Councilor Chen Yiqin attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Officials from relevant departments of the central and state organs, relevant people's organizations, relevant departments of the Central Military Commission, and directly affiliated universities in Beijing attended the meeting at the main venue.
