Hong Kong Tourism Board: 8.4 million visitors to Hong Kong in the first two months of this year, an annual increase of 7%

The Hong Kong Tourism Board recently released data showing that the total number of visitors to Hong Kong in the first two months of this year reached 8.4 million, an increase of 7% year-on-year. The performance of the mainland market remained stable, with a total of about 6.5 million visitors to Hong Kong in the first two months, an increase of 4% year-on-year. Data shows that the number of non mainland market visitors to Hong Kong in the first two months of this year increased by 20% year-on-year to 1.91 million. The short distance market performed well, with a total of 1.13 million visitors to Hong Kong in the first two months, a year-on-year increase of 26%. Among them, the number of visitors from the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, and South Korea all increased by more than 30% year-on-year. In the long-distance market, the cumulative number of visitors to Hong Kong in the first two months of this year was about 500000, a year-on-year increase of 20%. The Australian market performed the most outstandingly, with a year-on-year increase of 34%. To guide tourists to understand Hong Kong from multiple perspectives, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has recently launched a special page called "Hong Kong within reach of nature", introducing outdoor attractions such as hiking trails, outlying islands, and geological parks to global tourists. Recently, a new "Four Corners of Hong Kong" series of promotional videos has been launched, introducing the "East, South, West, and North" routes of Hong Kong, leading tourists to explore the four corners of Hong Kong and showcasing the advantages of local green tourism resources from multiple perspectives. In addition, the recently released Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government's 2025/26 fiscal year budget mentioned that in order to implement the concept of "tourism everywhere" and the "Hong Kong Tourism Development Blueprint 2.0", the SAR government will allocate HKD 1.235 billion to the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
