At 8:30 in the morning, Zhang Zhijia walked out of his home as a volunteer for the Chifeng Museum. He will go to the museum to explain the story of Hongshan Culture to the audience. Almost at the same time, Li Jiawei, a graduate student majoring in cultural relics at Chifeng University, also walked out of his dormitory and went to the library to search for materials for his next archaeological internship. At the Songshan Zhai Cultural and Creative Company of Chifeng Culture and Tourism Group, the person in charge Guo Lei has started a lively discussion with colleagues to improve the details of the Hongshan Culture refrigerator sticker that is currently being designed. Three people of different ages and professions are all dedicated to one thing, which is the protection and utilization of Hongshan culture. The Hongshan Culture is an archaeological culture of the late Neolithic period in northern China, originating around 6500 years ago and entering the ancient civilization stage around 5800 years ago. The Hongshan Culture is mainly distributed in the Xiliao River Basin in Northeast China, and more than 700 Hongshan Culture sites have been discovered in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. My hometown Chifeng City is the birthplace and naming place of Hongshan Culture Zhang Zhijia said. In the northeast suburbs of Chifeng City, there is a red mountain peak called Ulan Hada, which means "red mountain" in Mongolian. Chifeng is named after this city, and the Hongshan culture is also named after it. Zhang Zhijia has always enjoyed visiting museums to see various types of jade artifacts from the Hongshan culture, such as jade dragons, jade owls, and jade silkworms. Some jade artifacts have slight traces left by the grinding of cowhide ropes, which reminds me of the scene when the Hongshan ancestors made jade artifacts. It really feels like touching history. Zhang Zhijia is fascinated by the feeling of touching history, and he also hopes that more young people can gain knowledge and happiness in the process of understanding history. Therefore, he signed up to become a volunteer at Chifeng Museum. Volunteers are narrators and learners, "said Zhang Zhijia." Recently, audiences have often asked about the newly unearthed jade dragon from last year. The Hongshan cultural relics are being 'updated', and our knowledge should also be constantly 'updated'. Jade dragons are a typical representative of Hongshan culture jade artifacts. In 2024, a new member of the Hongshan Jade Dragon "family" was added. Archaeologists discovered a jade dragon measuring 15.8 centimeters long, 9.5 centimeters wide, and 3 centimeters thick at the Yuanbaoshan Stone Tomb in Xiawa Town, Aohan Banner, Chifeng City. It is currently the largest jade dragon unearthed in archaeological excavations. This newly unearthed Red Mountain Jade Dragon has not only become a "star" in special exhibitions and academic lectures, but also provided inspiration for cultural and creative designers. Guo Lei has been involved in the research and development of Hongshan Culture cultural and creative products for 4 years. He and his colleagues have successively launched cultural and creative products based on Hongshan cultural relics such as the Hongshan Goddess Statue and the Gouyun patterned jade pendant. Recently, they are planning to launch a new cultural and creative refrigerator sticker. The cultural and creative products we design should not only have high aesthetic value, but also good details and rich cultural heritage. We hope to become a small window for tourists to understand Hongshan culture Guo Lei said. Li Jiawei also hopes to participate in archaeological work in the future to uncover more cultural codes of the Hongshan culture. Archaeology is a way of dialogue with ancient people, and every piece of jade or pottery may contain stories about our ancestors, "said Li Jiawei." In the future, I want to tell more stories about the Hongshan culture to everyone. "The Hongshan culture is like a brilliant star, crossing the sky of history and still active in people's lives today. In Chifeng, participating in the Red Mountain Culture themed study, enjoying the symphony "Red Mountain Dawn" and stage play "Eternal Red Mountain", and tasting a "Red Mountain Banquet" that combines cultural and fireworks flavors... Red Mountain Culture is developing from a cultural concept to a cultural experience, achieving protection and utilization in new ways. We explore and study history, inherit excellent traditional Chinese culture, and empower industrial development with culture Zhang Guohua, Deputy Mayor of Chifeng City, said, "Next, we will continue to do a good job in the protection and application for World Heritage status of the Hongshan Culture Site, so that the Hongshan Culture can shine new in modern Chifeng and become a source of pride and love in the hearts of the people
