Babylon is one of the birthplaces of human civilization, and the ancient city ruins are located on the right bank of the Euphrates River, about 85 kilometers south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Babylon means' Gate of God ', and the ancient city was built around 3000 BC. The ruins of the ancient city were built during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar II of the Neo Babylonian Kingdom, with a grand and magnificent scale. Legend has it that this king built the Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, in Babylon. In 2019, UNESCO listed the ruins of the ancient city of Babylon on the World Heritage List.
