Innovative application of digital technology to meet the cultural needs of the masses
2025-01-20
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments have accelerated policy deployment, deeply promoted the integration of data and reality, developed and strengthened the data industry, and stimulated the development of the digital economy. Research predicts that by 2030, the scale of China's digital economy will exceed 80 trillion yuan. In the wave of digitization, the cultural new business model formed by relying on digital technology is one of the new growth points in the field of digital economy. Compared with traditional technology, digital technology, with its diverse forms of expression, can better create an interactive experience of "being in it" and bring people closer to culture. Not long ago, the Central Radio and Television Station launched its first AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) large-scale evening party, "AI Wonderful Night", which successfully created scenes such as interstellar scenes using AI technology, making the audience feel as if they are in the starry sky and experiencing the vastness of the universe in an immersive way. The immersive performance "Red Ribbon" launched by Guizhou Long March Culture Digital Art Museum combines the latest technologies such as AI virtual interaction, holographic imaging, multi-dimensional mechanical motion, virtual reality technology, and 3D sound field to vividly recreate the Red Army's Long March journey, leading the audience back to historical scenes and making red history move from flat to three-dimensional. Digital technology fully leverages its own characteristics and advantages, allowing people to truly experience the vastness of nature and the depth of history. Relying on its cultural creativity, it expands the content of the cultural industry and accelerates the digitization of the cultural industry. The dream of cultural creators is to preserve cultural works for a long time, while obtaining cultural works at a low price and quickly is the demand of consumers. The application of digital technology provides new possibilities for better connecting cultural consumption supply and demand. In recent years, there have been numerous digital practices in cultural heritage protection. For example, the "Digital Yuanmingyuan" project has completed a 1:1 digital simulation of Yuanmingyuan through digital collection and archiving, realizing the dream of "reviving" cultural relics in a digital way. Digital technology also helps audiences experience cultural works with high cost-effectiveness. Discovering Dunhuang - Dunhuang Art Scene Style Special Exhibition "is undoubtedly a successful attempt. This exhibition, created by touch interaction, 3D holographic projection, and light and shadow technology, vividly presents the art of Dunhuang murals and showcases the millennium style of Dunhuang murals. These digital artworks not only convey the ideas of cultural creators, but also provide cultural consumers with richer and higher quality choices, allowing cultural creators and consumers to complete a "time traveling" interaction and enabling people to deeply understand the value and wisdom hidden in culture. The diverse cultural innovations and active cultural markets inject more vitality into the development of the digital cultural industry. According to the data, in the first three quarters of 2024, the contribution rate of the new cultural industry to the growth of the operating income of all cultural enterprises above the designated size reached 68.2%, of which, the operating income of six industries, namely, the manufacturing of intelligent unmanned aerial vehicles for entertainment, Internet search services, Internet cultural entertainment platforms, multimedia game animation and digital publishing software development, Internet advertising services, and digital publishing, showed a double-digit year-on-year growth trend. It is not difficult to see that these industries with obvious growth trends all have outstanding digital characteristics. The vigorous development of the digital cultural industry represented by it has expanded the economic extension of the digital industry and enriched its cultural connotation. Currently, digital culture has deeply integrated into our daily lives, enriching consumers' spiritual and cultural needs while also placing higher demands on the supply of cultural products and services. We should innovate the use and expression of digital technology, deeply explore the rich cultural connotations, promote the deep integration of culture and technology, and make the achievements of digital culture better benefit all people.
