On January 16th, with the first pair of 500 meter long steel rails in place at Yangjiang North Station of Guangzhou Zhanjiang High speed Railway, the Guangzhou Zhanjiang High speed Railway, invested and constructed by Guangdong Railway Investment Group's Guangzhou Zhanjiang Railway Company, EPC general contracting of China Railway Design Group, and construction of China Railway Tenth Bureau Group Co., Ltd., officially entered the track laying stage, marking significant progress in project construction and laying a solid foundation for accelerating completion and opening to traffic. The Guangzhou Zhanjiang High speed Railway is an important component of the national "Eight Verticals and Eight Horizontals" high-speed railway network and a 350 kilometer per hour coastal railway passenger transport corridor. It is also the most complex, longest, and largest investment railway project independently invested and constructed by Guangdong Province. It is a high-speed railway connecting the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, Hainan Free Trade Port, and Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration. After the completion of the project, it will significantly shorten the time and space distance between western Guangdong and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, greatly improving the travel conditions of the people in western Guangdong.
