In order to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and further understand, accurately grasp and effectively implement Xi Jinping's important thought on Party building, the Organization Department of the Central Committee has compiled the book "An Introduction to Xi Jinping's Important Thought on Party Building" (hereinafter referred to as "Introduction"), which has been published by the Party Building Reading Press and is now available nationwide1.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Xi Jinping has focused on the major era topic of what kind of long-term ruling Marxist political party to build and how to build it, highlighting the theme and main line of comprehensively and strictly governing the Party, and putting forward a series of new concepts, new ideas and new strategies for governing, building and strengthening the Party, thus forming Xi Jinping's important thought on Party building. Xi Jinping's important thought on Party building is extensive and profound, with rich connotations. It has greatly enriched and developed the Marxist theory of Party building with a series of original achievements, marking that our Party's understanding of the laws governing the construction of Marxist ruling parties has reached a new height, constituting the "Party building chapter" of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, and providing the fundamental guidelines for further promoting the great project of Party building in the new era and doing well the organizational work in the new era1.

The "Introduction" consists of an introduction, a main body and a conclusion, with a total of 121,000 words. The whole book systematically explains the core essence, spiritual essence, rich connotations and practical requirements of Xi Jinping's important thought on Party building, deeply expounds the fundamental principles, scientific layout, value pursuits and key tasks of Party building, and comprehensively reflects the original contributions of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era in the field of Party building.
