Recently, the third and fourth wind turbine test positions of the first domestic wind power coastal test base located in Shantou, Guangdong were successfully completed, with a maximum single machine test capacity of 24 megawatts, ranking first in the world. This is of great significance for supporting the grid connection testing and type certification of large megawatt wind turbines, ensuring the quality of offshore wind turbine grid connection and the safety and stability of the power grid. The Guangdong Province Wind Power Linhai Test Base is led by Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Company and is included in the construction and management of the National Energy Administration's Key Laboratory of New Energy Grid Integration and Consumption. The Linhai Base is divided into two phases of construction, with two testing machine positions in the first phase being put into operation in 2022. Since then, it has served the testing of multiple new offshore wind turbine models. In recent years, China's offshore wind power has entered a period of large-scale development, with the updating and iteration speed of wind turbines accelerating and the capacity increasing. In order to fill the "gap" in domestic large capacity wind turbine testing and support the high-quality development of new energy industries such as wind power, in 2022, Southern Power Grid Guangdong Power Grid Company plans to build the first domestic wind power coastal testing base in Shantou, creating a "certification testing service platform" and "public testing platform" for large capacity offshore wind turbines. Units 1 and 2 have been put into operation by the end of 2022. As of the end of December 2024, two units at the Guangdong Wind Power Linhai Test Base have completed certification and testing for five new models, effectively ensuring the safe grid connection of multiple offshore wind power projects in the province and supporting Guangdong's total installed capacity of offshore wind power to exceed 12 million kilowatts by the end of 2024, ranking first in the country The relevant staff of Guangdong Power Grid New Energy Service Center stated that with the completion of the new testing machine position, the maximum total testing capacity of the base's testing machine position has reached 82 megawatts, of which the maximum detection capacity of a single machine is 24 megawatts, and the wind turbine detection capability ranks among the top in the world.
