At around 16:00 on January 5th, the G885 Fuxing high-speed train departed from Wuhan Station and headed south towards West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong. This is the first high-speed train from Wuhan to Hong Kong opened by the railway department, which will promote personnel mobility and economic and trade exchanges between the central region and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The reporter saw on the platform that the G885 Fuxing train, which has nearly 1200 seats, was decorated with red window decorations, small lanterns, colorful ribbons, etc. Passengers took photos with the train to commemorate the occasion. The train departs from Wuhan Station and stops at Changsha South, Guangzhou South, Humen, Shenzhen North and other stations before arriving at West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong. The entire journey takes 4 hours and 33 minutes. Previously, there were two high-speed trains departing from Beijing West Station and Tianjin West Station each day, stopping in Wuhan and heading to Hong Kong West Kowloon Station. Starting from January 5th, in addition to adding high-speed trains from Wuhan to Hong Kong, there will also be an additional high-speed train departing from Xi'an North Station and stopping in Wuhan to Hong Kong. The relevant person in charge of the Passenger Transport Department of China Railway Wuhan Group Co., Ltd. introduced that in recent years, the economic, trade, cultural, and educational ties between Hong Kong and Wuhan have become increasingly close, and personnel exchanges have become more frequent. With the addition of four pairs of high-speed trains from Wuhan to Hong Kong, the transportation capacity has significantly increased, making short-term vacations, business trips, and visits to relatives and friends more convenient and better meeting the travel needs of passengers.
