According to data from the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, nearly 950000 people entered and exited Hong Kong through various sea, land, and air traffic control stations on January 1st. Among them, over 528000 people entered the country, including about 393000 Hong Kong residents and about 106000 mainland tourists; About 420000 people have left the country, including over 151000 mainland tourists and approximately 221000 Hong Kong residents. The cross departmental working group on festival arrangements of the Special Administrative Region government pointed out that from early morning to 6:30 am on New Year's Day, about 25000 mainland visitors left the country through various land border control points. The Director of Immigration of the Special Administrative Region Government, Guo Junfeng, stated that the Immigration Department has deployed an additional 300 personnel to divert cross-border flows and coordinate with the Mainland Immigration Bureau. All land ports operate smoothly, and passengers generally only need to wait for a few minutes to clear customs. In order to ease the cross-border flow of people and vehicles during the New Year period, the SAR government has made special customs clearance arrangements with relevant departments of Guangdong Province and Shenzhen City. The customs clearance service for passengers and buses at the Shenzhen Bay Port on New Year's Eve has been changed from the original 12 pm to overnight service, and the customs clearance service for passengers at the Luohu Port has been extended from the original 12 pm to 2 am on the 1st. At the same time, the Transport Department of the Special Administrative Region Government also collaborates with various public transport operators to strengthen cross-border public transport services.
