After the upgrade, the effective waiting area of Shanghai South Railway Station has increased by about 2500 square meters, and the security screening capacity can be increased to 10000 people per hour. The upgraded Shanghai South Station will become a major passenger station for high-speed trains on lines such as the Shanghai Kunming high-speed railway and the Shanghai Suzhou Hunan high-speed railway, which is of great significance for promoting regional economic development.
