The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau announced on the 30th the "Hong Kong Tourism Development Blueprint 2.0" (hereinafter referred to as Blueprint 2.0), aiming to implement the goal of "tourism everywhere", further promote the healthy and sustainable development of tourism related industries, and consolidate Hong Kong's position as a world-class preferred tourist destination. Blueprint 2.0 proposes four major development strategies and 133 measures, providing work direction and strategies for the development of Hong Kong's tourism industry in the next five years. It is expected that the added value brought by the tourism industry will increase by 60% to HKD 120 billion and the number of employed people will increase to 210000 after five years. The development strategy includes: developing tourism products and projects with Hong Kong and international characteristics; Explore diversified customer markets and concentrate on attracting high value-added overnight travelers to Hong Kong; Promote smart tourism; Comprehensively improve the service quality and supporting facilities of the tourism industry, and cultivate talents. The Director of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosamund Law, stated that the tourism industry involves multiple service sectors, and promoting its all-round development requires the support and participation of the entire society. The SAR government advocates that "everyone is a tourism ambassador", and all sectors of society and citizens welcome every visiting tourist with a warm and friendly attitude, spreading the positive energy and beautiful image of Hong Kong, and jointly creating a harmonious, inclusive, and vibrant tourism atmosphere. The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government will continue to lead the tourism industry to comprehensively enhance Hong Kong's tourism competitiveness, and jointly make greater contributions to promoting the prosperity and healthy development of Hong Kong's tourism industry. Peng Yaojia, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, stated that Blueprint 2.0 combines industry development trends, tourist travel habits, and moderately introduces technology to provide clear guidance and promote cross departmental and cross sector cooperation, which is crucial for promoting the development of the tourism industry. The Hong Kong Tourism Board is full of confidence in the prospects of the tourism industry and will make every effort to implement the specific measures of Blueprint 2.0, develop more new products, and provide more diversified experiences for tourists. Since April this year, the Cultural, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government and the Solidarity Hong Kong Fund have conducted an industry consultation for about two months, collecting over a thousand suggestions from more than 110 industry related organizations through 27 physical consultation meetings, and analyzing the advantages, development limitations, challenges and opportunities of Hong Kong's tourism industry, as well as the tourism development plans of other neighboring regions, to formulate Blueprint 2.0.
