Over the past twelve years, the Minnan Grand Theater has witnessed and driven the development and transformation of the industry, and with its unique location advantage, has written a good story of the integration of culture and art between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Since its opening, Minnan Grand Theater has actively participated in the trend of cross-strait integration and development, committed to introducing Taiwan's most classic and representative plays to Xiamen. In the 30 day "Cross Strait (Xiamen) Art Festival" in 2024, the Minnan Grand Theater presented 12 high-quality plays, including the Youren Divine Drum "Ink Tool Five Color 2.0", the Zhu Zongqing Percussion Orchestra Concert "Momentum Infinite", and the Zhang Jiemin and Wang Yaoqing Symphony Drama "Romeo and Juliet". Taiwanese famous orchestras, who have been absent for many years, returned to Xiamen with their wonderful works, which were loved and welcomed by Xiamen art enthusiasts. On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment in 2022, the Minnan Grand Theater specially commissioned the Taiwan Guotuo Theater to create a stage play called "The Lost 24th White Key". This work brings together a luxurious creative team from mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, including the artistic director of Taiwan Guotuo Theater, Liang Zhimin, the "Hong Kong Pop Music Godfather" Bobby Da, the contracted writer of Taiwan's "Mirror Literature", Xu Hongwei, and the gold medal costume designer Lin Hengzheng, who has won the WSD (World Stage Design) Fashion Design Gold Award multiple times. By showcasing the unique local customs and landmark buildings of Xiamen, it vividly interprets and pays tribute to the Minnan regional culture represented by Xiamen. After its premiere in Xiamen in May 2023, the drama has toured in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Hangzhou and other places. In 2025, "The Lost 24th White Key" is about to cross the sea to Taiwan. At the beginning of the new year, it will be performed at the Weiwuying Art and Culture Center in Kaohsiung. After January 4-5, it will be moved to the Miaobei Art and Culture Center Performance Hall, presenting this original stage play that combines music, love, and Xiamen sentiment, spanning three generations and intertwining three romantic relationships to Taiwanese audiences. Minnan culture is a common cultural intersection between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, with irreplaceable advantages in connecting the emotions of compatriots on both sides and awakening the common historical and cultural memory of both sides. The Minnan Grand Theater uses original stage plays as a carrier to showcase the cultural roots and origins of both sides of the Taiwan Strait, promoting the integration of cultural and artistic development between the two sides. It also allows many Taiwanese audiences to experience the unique charm of Minnan regional culture up close, making a significant contribution to cultural exchange between Fujian and Taiwan. It is reported that over the past twelve years, the Minnan Grand Theater has adhered to the principles of international, open, and diverse theater selection. With the Minnan Spring Performance Season, Cross Strait Art Festival, and New Year Performance Season, it has firmly established the "Minnan Characteristics" of "gathering global art and communicating between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait". A large number of stage art works that showcase excellent world culture and have superb artistic aesthetics are presented brilliantly on the Minnan Grand Theater stage. The Minnan Grand Theater continues to introduce and promote excellent international theatrical works, and some classic foreign plays have also chosen Xiamen as an important stop on their tour. The original Russian musical "Demon Onegin", which debuted in early 2024, brings a rare "Russian style aesthetic" to Xiamen audiences with its gorgeous stage design, moving melody, unique interpretation, and northern temperament. The year-end New Year's Eve play and the original Italian musical "Casanova - The Lover of Venice" are the first Italian produced musicals introduced to China, with only two stops in Shanghai and Xiamen. This is also an important measure for the Minnan Grand Theater to once again open up the international map of Xiamen's small language musicals after French, Russian and other languages, allowing lucky Xiamen theater fans to enjoy this customized "Italian feast". 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, as well as the year of cultural tourism between China and France. Taking this opportunity, the Minnan Grand Theater has gradually brought French cultural and artistic treasures to the theater stage, and has made every effort to introduce two popular French original musicals, "Tang Huang" and "Notre Dame de Paris". These two musicals not only sparked a wave of theater watching in Xiamen, but also attracted a large number of non local audiences to come and watch, making "dragging luggage to watch" a beautiful scenery in Xiamen's cultural consumption market.
