According to the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Water Resources, there will be no obvious rainfall process in the the Pearl River basin before New Year's Day 2025, and a new round of strong saltwater tide will affect the the Pearl River Estuary. The probability of fresh water extraction in Zhuhai, Zhongshan and other places will decrease. In view of the relevant situation, the Ministry of Water Resources directed the the Pearl River Water Resources Commission to strengthen the monitoring and forecasting of rainfall and salinity, and dispatch backbone water projects such as Xijiang Longtan, Datong Gorge, Changzhou and Beijiang Feilai Gorge for emergency water regulation of "salt water pressure and water supply".
