2024-12-20
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated on the 19th that as the Central Economic Work Conference further sends a strong signal to expand high-level opening up to the outside world, China's efforts to promote upward and positive economic development continue. China welcomes more foreign friends to invest in and deeply cultivate China. At the regular press conference that day, a reporter asked: Recently, the Central Economic Work Conference was successfully held. Foreign media comments suggest that at a time when global economic recovery is weak and globalization is facing unprecedented challenges, the conference highlights that China remains the largest engine of global economic growth and will consolidate its position as a leader in global economic growth. We have also noticed that the British Chamber of Commerce in China and the German Chamber of Commerce in China have recently released survey reports, stating that 76% of British companies plan to maintain or increase their investments in China, 92% of German companies will continue to operate in China, and over half will increase their investments in the next two years. What is the spokesperson's comment on this? Lin Jian pointed out that since the beginning of this year, facing the increasing uncertainty of the world economy, China has firmly promoted high-quality development and high-level opening up to the outside world. The overall economic operation has been stable and steady, and has continued to become the "anchor of stability" and "driving force" of the world economy. Lin Jian said that in the first three quarters, China's economy grew by 4.8%, ranking among the top in the world's major economies. In the first 11 months, the total import and export volume of goods increased by 4.9% year-on-year, and the number of newly established foreign-invested enterprises increased by 8.9%. The annual economic and social development goals are about to be successfully achieved. For several consecutive years, China has hosted the China International Import Expo and the China International Import Expo, granting 100% tariff free treatment to all least developed countries that have established diplomatic relations, achieving zero restrictions on foreign investment access in the manufacturing industry, and increasing the openness index by 11.89% compared to 2008. China is a major trading partner of more than 150 countries and regions, and has long maintained its position as the world's second largest inflow of foreign investment. Many foreign companies also plan to continue increasing their investment in China and cast a vote of confidence in China through practical actions Lin Jian stated that China's economic foundation is stable, with multiple advantages, strong resilience, and great potential. The long-term support conditions and basic trends for improvement have not changed, which is the greatest confidence and strength for China to share opportunities and seek common development with the world. As the Central Economic Work Conference further releases a strong signal of expanding high-level opening up, China has been pushing forward its economic development. The direction of promoting global development and prosperity with Chinese path to modernization remains unchanged, and China's confidence in sharing development opportunities with other countries in the world remains unchanged. We also welcome more foreign friends to come to China, invest in China, deeply cultivate China, share the benefits of win-win cooperation, and create a better future together Lin Jian said.
