This comment from Mr. Li Qingzhi, a well-known architect in Taiwan, can be said to be from the bottom of his heart. In the 25 years since its return to the motherland, the economic and social development of the Macao Special Administrative Region has not only been "advancing rapidly", but also "shining brightly". It has become a "model student" in the practice of "one country, two systems", fully demonstrating the strong vitality and enormous superiority of the "one country, two systems", "Australian people governing Macao", and high degree of autonomy policies, shining with "three colors" on this "model student". Firstly, the comprehensive and accurate implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" policy is the foundation of Macau. For the past 25 years, the Macao SAR government and all sectors of society have fully and accurately implemented the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, taking safeguarding national sovereignty and security as the "major premise" of governance, actively fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities stipulated in the Basic Law, and completed local legislation on national security as early as 2009. Afterwards, the Macao SAR government continuously improved the legal system and enforcement mechanism for safeguarding national security in response to changes in the situation, and effectively implemented the principle of "patriots governing Macao", ensuring the long-term prosperity and stability of Macao, with per capita GDP ranking second in the world. At the same time, the comprehensive and accurate implementation of the "One Country, Two Systems" policy has also won broader development space for Macau. By strengthening economic ties with the mainland through platforms such as the Guangdong (Qinhuangdao) Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, the Macao Special Administrative Region has effectively integrated into the overall national development, gained new momentum for economic and social development, and created the best development situation in history. It can be said that the successful practice of the Macao SAR fully proves that the "two systems" are a coexistence, interdependence, and mutually beneficial relationship under the principle of "one country". The stronger the principle of "one country", the more prominent the advantages of "two systems" will be. Secondly, actively implementing the policy of "Australians governing Macau" and promoting unity among all sectors of society is the essence of Macau. In the 25 years since its return to the motherland, the Macao SAR government has worked together with various sectors of society, including patriotic and Macao loving organizations, to unite and cooperate, striving to "work together" and promote the moderate diversification of the Macao SAR economy and improve people's livelihoods. The Macao SAR government encourages and supports the active participation of patriotic Macao compatriots in the construction and management of the SAR, enhancing the sense of belonging and identity of Macao residents. In recent years, the Macao Special Administrative Region has successfully promoted the implementation of the "1+4" moderately diversified economic development strategy, with tourism and leisure as the core, to promote the development of key industries such as traditional Chinese medicine and health, modern finance, high-tech, exhibition and commerce, culture and sports. The "Macao Special Administrative Region Moderately Diversified Economic Development Plan (2024-2028)" has been formulated and implemented, and the proportion of the gambling industry in GDP has been significantly reduced. Thirdly, fully utilizing the advantages of the "two systems" and leveraging Macau's strengths is the highlight of Macau. In the 25 years since its return to the motherland, Macao has consolidated the foundation of "one country" and fully utilized the benefits of "two systems", leveraging its unique geographical, cultural, and economic advantages. It has not only developed into a charming international tourism and leisure center, but also become one of the "super contacts" between China and the world. Especially Macao actively utilizes its close ties with Portugal to build a cooperation platform centered around the China Portuguese Speaking Countries Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, which includes all nine countries in the world where Portuguese is the official language. Currently, Macao and Guangdong Province are further strengthening cooperation, expanding the functions of the China Portuguese speaking Countries Business Cooperation Service Platform, and achieving the "great reunion" and "great cooperation" between China and all Portuguese speaking countries, as stated by Ji Xianzheng, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum Macao. The Haojiang River is warm and the lotus flowers are beautiful. Twenty five years of dreams have just come true. On this land that has gone through vicissitudes and is full of vitality, the practical picture of "One Country, Two Systems" in Macau slowly unfolds, bursting with colorful light. The "model student" in the practice of "one country, two systems" not only embodies the support and help of the central government and the people of the whole country, but also embodies the wisdom, responsibility and courage of every Macao compatriot. I believe that standing at a new historical starting point, Macau will continue to contribute in its unique way to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
