According to statistics, the annual number of people inspected for entry and exit at the terminal has increased from 31.8 million in 1999 to over 187 million this year, and the number of vehicles inspected for entry and exit transportation has increased from 1.62 million to 10.27 million. It is reported that in the past 25 years, the number of customs clearance ports in Zhuhai and Macau has increased from 2 in 1999 to 7, the number of manual inspection channels has increased from less than 100 to the current 166, the number of fast inspection channels has increased from zero to 469, and the number of "one-stop" vehicle inspection channels has increased from zero to 123. At the same time, the continuous innovation and implementation of convenient customs clearance models have made travel between Zhuhai and Macao more convenient. The "cooperative inspection, one-time release" border inspection mode has been implemented since 2018 in the Zhuhai Macau Bridge Zhuhai Highway Port Zhuhai Macau Channel, Hengqin and Qingmao Ports. As of now, more than 145 million passengers have enjoyed the convenience of "completing the border inspection procedures for both Zhuhai and Macau in just one queue". On November 20th of this year, Gongbei Port piloted the use of the "no need to present documents" channel. Currently, the daily average number of users has reached over 60000, accounting for nearly 20% of the daily clearance volume of the port. According to data, since the implementation of the "Macau Car Northbound" policy on January 1, 2023, over 49500 Macau drivers and 37800 vehicles have completed border inspection registration procedures. As of now, the number of single license plate cars traveling north to Macau has exceeded 2.52 million, accounting for over 30% of the total number of cars cleared at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, making it the "main force" of traffic. The relevant person in charge of Zhuhai Border Inspection Station introduced that in order to cope with the situation of large passenger and vehicle flows, the station continuously optimizes customs clearance measures, expands the scope of personnel passing through the fast inspection channel at Hengqin Port, implements measures such as Qin'ao Tourism, and the "cargo and passenger" project at the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, effectively improving the efficiency of port traffic.
