The Cangzhou section of the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal is over 200 kilometers long, running through the city of Cangzhou from north to south and passing through 8 counties (cities, districts) including Wuqiao, Dongguang, and Nanpi. In recent years, Cangzhou City has been deeply promoting the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, and a number of national intangible cultural heritages have blossomed with new era style in the process of protection, inheritance, and development. Wuqiao County, Cangzhou City, has a long history of acrobatics and is known as the "hometown of acrobatics" in China. After more than 2000 years of inheritance and development, Wuqiao acrobatics has formed unique rules in performance, props, management, inheritance, and other aspects, forming a complete industry cultural system. In 2006, Wuqiao acrobatics was included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. In recent years, a series of measures have been introduced locally to strengthen the inheritance and protection of acrobatics in Wuqiao, making acrobatics a beautiful business card for cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
