This year marks the 20th anniversary of China Italy comprehensive strategic partnership, and people to people and cultural exchanges between the two countries are in the ascendant. On the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of the new Guangzhou Art Museum, a new cultural and artistic landmark in the Greater Bay Area, a highly anticipated international cultural exhibition titled "Decoding Da Vinci: Cross temporal Technology and Art Reproduction" is about to kick off here. Before the special exhibition kicked off, the museum held a unique "Decoding Da Vinci - Cross temporal Technology and Art Reproduction" Greater Bay Area Youth Study and Co creation Day event for students in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area on December 14-15, 2024. The collision of Chinese and Western cultures at the event site: The Italian Academy of da Vinci teaches the art of da Vinci in Guangdong. Professor Mario Tadaii from the Italian Academy of da Vinci is one of the world's renowned pioneers in da Vinci research, having been engaged in da Vinci research for more than 20 years and winning numerous international awards for da Vinci mechanical research. During the event, Professor Mario Tadaii personally delivered a wonderful and vivid lecture to students in the Greater Bay Area. He tells the legendary story and brilliant life of Leonardo da Vinci, who went from an ordinary painter to a scientist, engineer, and inventor with advanced thinking and outstanding achievements. Under the leadership of Professor Mario Tadaii, the students witnessed the global debut of the 14 meter Da Vinci spacecraft and participated in a series of S T. E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education is the core curriculum, attempting to create a self supported bridge model of Da Vinci by hand. In the process of learning and hands-on experience, students have gained a deep understanding of the principles behind structural engineering and the wonderful world constructed by Leonardo da Vinci, comprehensively exploring innovative and creative thinking. During the lecture, Professor Mario Tadaii interacted with the students. He also mentioned that the Da Vinci bridge made in the course practice was originally influenced by the bridge design in the ancient Chinese painting "Along the River during Qingming Festival". Science and art have no boundaries. The organization of this event allows young people in Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China to have a deeper understanding of the exchange and integration of ancient Chinese and Western technology and culture. While learning about Leonardo da Vinci's creative inventions in China, they also learn how ancient Chinese technology and achievements inspired his ideas. Professor Mario Tadaii shared with Xinhua News Agency reporters, "We are delighted to see many students from different regions of the Greater Bay Area of China exchange ideas and collaborate as teams during the event. Young people are full of hope and vitality. We expect students to learn from history and draw inspiration from nature, and each of them can become a da Vinci. This is very important for the Earth, because in the future, we need more engineers and artists to contribute to our common home." He added that Marco Polo is one of the most representative figures in East West dialogue, and still demonstrates the depth of cultural exchanges between China and Italy today. The bridge conceived by Leonardo da Vinci is very simple and beautiful. And this is exactly the inspiration he gained from the ancient Chinese bridge books brought back to Italy by Marco Polo 500 years ago. This bridge is also one of the proofs of the cultural intersection between the two countries. He believes that the only possibility for the future development of the two countries is cooperation. Unity and cooperation are the concepts we want to convey to children in our activities. Unity leads to a future, "said Professor Mario Tadaii. Professor Mario Tadayi told the reporter of the news agency, Cheng Hailong, the curator of the Sino Italian cultural exchange event, that with the continuous improvement of China's international status, we not only saw many foreigners begin to learn Chinese, but also saw a large number of foreigners and Hong Kong and Macao youth choose to work in the mainland, and the exchanges between Hong Kong and Macao and mainland students are becoming more and more frequent. The Greater Bay Area is now a one hour economic circle, and there will be no boundaries in the future. I think young people from the three regions should have more exchanges and integration, which can better help them adapt to future learning, work, and life. "Curator Wang Yuyun from Hong Kong believes that Hong Kong attaches great importance to cultural development, but its venue space is relatively small. Therefore, for Hong Kong people, the development space and employment opportunities in the cultural and artistic fields of mainland China are highly attractive. In the end, 400 primary, secondary, and tertiary students from various universities in the Greater Bay Area participated in this innovative course that spans time and space. This event not only allowed young people from the three regions to have a deeper understanding of Leonardo da Vinci, an international art master, but also stimulated and cultivated their international perspective and innovative thinking. It also provided them with a platform for common learning and exchange, promoted the integration and collision of different regional cultures, and enhanced understanding and friendship among young people in the Greater Bay Area. Hong Xianjun, a student from Li Zhaoji Primary School of the Hong Kong Youth Association, said, "I really enjoy the process of making bridges. Not only can I interact with professors, but I can also collaborate with friends from mainland China. It's very interesting!" He added, "I look forward to coming here again and colliding with new friends to create new sparks." Hong Xianjun, a student from Li Zhaoji Primary School of the Hong Kong Youth Association, and Huang Sixing, a student representative from Longkou West Primary School (Rui'an Campus) in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, said that his favorite project is to do "handicrafts" with friends from Hong Kong. He said, "Although our language expressions are a bit different, they are all in 'vernacular', and our communication is very smooth. The student representative of Xilu Elementary School promised, Through this event, we have developed our ability to work together as a team, and I am very happy. "Huang Sixing (left), a student from Longkou West Primary School (Rui'an Campus) in Tianhe District, Guangzhou, and Xu Nuo (right), a student from Dongfeng West Road Primary School in Guangzhou, made a self supported bridge model by Da Vinci. It is reported that the exhibition" Decoding Da Vinci - Cross temporal Technology and Art Reproduction "will officially open on December 20th and continue to be on display until April 20th next year. The exhibition will be located in Hall 1 of the Guangzhou Museum of Art (Guangzhou Art Museum), with a layout of two floors and covering six themed exhibition areas, with a total area of nearly 2000 square meters, creating a new interactive experience of art and technology that is both international and within reach for the general public.
