The utilization rate of wind and solar power generation in China remains above 95%
2024-12-16
According to data released by the National Energy Administration on the 15th, as of the end of 2024, China's wind power installed capacity is about 510 million kilowatts, and the photovoltaic installed capacity is about 840 million kilowatts, with a utilization rate of over 95%. The development speed of new energy in our country is fast, with an average annual growth rate of double digits. Since 2013, the installed capacity of wind power has increased sixfold, with an average annual growth rate of about 20%; The installed capacity of photovoltaics has increased by more than 180 times, with an average annual growth rate of about 60%. The global proportion of annual new installed capacity is over 40%, providing sustained impetus for global green development. In recent years, while the installed capacity continues to expand, China's new energy has maintained a good trend of high proportion consumption. The average utilization rate of wind power and photovoltaic power generation remains above 95%, which is at a world-class level. The power generation capacity continues to increase and the proportion steadily increases. In 2023, the average utilization rate of wind power in China will be 97.3%, and the average utilization rate of photovoltaics will be 98%. The wind and solar power generation will reach 1.43 trillion kilowatt hours, exceeding the domestic electricity consumption of urban and rural residents in China in 2023 (1.35 trillion kilowatt hours), accounting for about 15.8% of the total electricity consumption in society and higher than the global average level. From January to July 2024, the average utilization rate of wind power in China was 96.3%, and the average utilization rate of photovoltaics was 97.1%. The electricity generated by wind and solar power reached 1054.9 billion kilowatt hours, accounting for about 20% of the total electricity generation, surpassing the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry (1039.6 billion kilowatt hours) and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents (848.2 billion kilowatt hours) during the same period. The "green content" of energy has significantly increased. (New Society)
