On December 12th, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping met with Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party, at the Great Hall of the People.
Xi Jinping stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia 75 years ago, the two countries have jointly embarked on a new path of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation between major powers and neighboring countries, setting an example for a new type of international relations and neighboring major country relations. China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with Russia, tap the endogenous momentum of bilateral cooperation, and constantly benefit the two countries and peoples. China and Russia should closely communicate and cooperate within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, the BRICS cooperation mechanism, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, practice true multilateralism, promote the development of the international order towards a more just and reasonable direction, and jointly safeguard global strategic stability and international fairness and justice.
As an important force driving human progress, the two parties need to further coordinate and cooperate closely, lead the correct direction of global governance, gather consensus among friendly political parties from countries around the world, especially those in the "Global South", and promote the world to develop in the right direction.
Xi Jinping stated that on the issue of the Ukrainian crisis, China has repeatedly emphasized the need to adhere to the three principles of "no spillover of the battlefield, no escalation of the war, and no escalation of tensions among all parties", and to promote the easing of the situation as soon as possible. China will continue to adhere to its consistent position and work with the international community to create favorable conditions for the political resolution of the crisis.
Medvedev handed over a personally signed letter from President Putin to President Xi Jinping, expressing his pleasure at visiting China again on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China. The current high-level cooperation between Russia and China is the result of the joint leadership and promotion of President Putin and President Xi Jinping, and the phrase "echoing each other's voices and seeking common ground" vividly reflects the good relationship formed between the two countries. The Russian side will steadfastly implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote strategic cooperation. The exchange and cooperation between the United Russia Party and the CPC bear a special responsibility in Russia China relations. The day after tomorrow, the United Russia Party will hold its 22nd National Congress to make new arrangements for future strategic tasks and goals. The United Russia Party is willing to promote pragmatic cooperation and youth exchanges between the two sides through the dialogue mechanism between the ruling parties of Russia and China, strengthen education on traditional values such as patriotism, and promote the long-term development of bilateral relations. The Russian side positively evaluates China's position on the Ukrainian crisis, pays attention to the "Friends of Peace" group initiative proposed by China, Brazil and other countries, and is willing to actively promote a political solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
