On December 10th, President Xi Jinping sent a telegram to Gokur congratulating him on his inauguration as the President of the Republic of Mauritius.
Xi Jinping pointed out that Mauritius is an important partner of China in Africa. With the joint efforts of both sides, the relationship between the two countries has been elevated to a strategic partnership. Under the new situation, the two countries shoulder the historical mission of realizing national rejuvenation and share the same responsibility in maintaining international fairness and justice. The potential for cooperation between the two sides is enormous and the future is promising. I attach great importance to the development of China Mauritius relations and would like to work with Mr. President to implement the outcomes of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation as an important starting point to enhance political mutual trust between the two sides, expand practical cooperation in various fields and promote greater development of bilateral relations.
