The 22nd Doha Forum concluded on the 8th. The attendees expressed that for the global South, regardless of the size of the country, unity and cooperation are necessary. China strives to promote cooperation between the global South and make important contributions to achieving a more inclusive global governance system. At the sub forum on "China's Role in the Rising Global South: Redefining the Future World Order" jointly organized by the Doha Forum and the "Globalization Think Tank", participants discussed the remarkable momentum of the global South, as well as the concept and practice of China working with the vast number of countries in the global South to practice true multilateralism and jointly promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Rwandan President Kagame stated that African countries have received strong support from China in their pursuit of national independence and liberation. This traditional friendship has lasted for decades, and today's Africa China economic and trade cooperation is helping local economic development without additional political conditions. Taking Rwanda as an example, the trade volume between Rwanda and China increased by 274% in 2023 compared to 2018, and Rwanda also benefited from China's lower tariff levels. Namibian President Mbemba said that Africa China cooperation is based on reciprocity, not coercion. Nowadays, Chinese companies are building roads and other infrastructure in Africa, which developed countries are unwilling to participate in; Africa and China have also strengthened academic exchanges and educational cooperation to promote cultural integration and mutual learning of civilizations. Barbados Prime Minister Motley stated that all countries, regardless of their size, are equal and can play a role in a multipolar world. In the face of global challenges, even the largest country cannot face them alone and requires unity and cooperation among all nations. Honduran Foreign Minister Reina said that China and countries in the global South are developing a relationship based on mutual respect and mutual benefit. This year's Doha Forum lasted for two days, with the theme of "Innovation is imperative", and dozens of sub forums and seminars were held. More than 4500 attendees and 300 guest speakers from over 150 countries and regions around the world discussed topics such as geopolitics, humanitarian crises facing multiple regions, the global South, artificial intelligence, and the digital economy. The Doha Forum is generally held once a year with the aim of "diplomacy, dialogue, and diversity". (New Society)
